The singer Shania Twain is speaking out this week to reveal how she is “embracing aging” at 58. This comes after a storied career that has seen her make some of the catchiest songs out there.

Twain Talks Aging

Since the entertainment industry has a strong emphasis on youth, many celebrities struggle with aging. Twain, however, insist that she is “fine” with it.

“I’m embracing the aging,” Twain told Extra. “I’m fine with it. I don’t have a choice. I can’t change it.”

“So I decided whatever I can’t change, I need to have fun with,” she added. “What I wanted to get used to was, ‘What do I look like with my hair going lighter and lighter and lighter and lighter?”

That’s why Twain recently decided to dye her hair pink. Afterwards, she was surprised to find that this made her feel younger. Check out that look below!

Twain Reflects On Her Career

As she ages, Twain is also getting reflective about her career and everything that she’s accomplished over the years.

“I’m taking it in now. All these years later,” she explained. “I’m absorbing more of the accolades than I did when I was receiving them. Because life was really going fast. The accolades were coming in really fast.”

Twain added that when she was younger, she “wasn’t present. And I wasn’t celebrating in the moment. But I’m celebrating it now.”

Twain’s Origins

Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada in 1965, Twain comes from humble beginnings.

Growing up in poverty, Twain was sadly raised in an abusive household, and music quickly became her one shining light. She was singing by the age of 3, playing the guitar by 8, and writing her own songs by 10.

Twain moved to Toronto to pursue music after she turned 18. Sadly, her life changed forever when her mother and stepfather were killed in a car crash in 1987.

Afterwards, she moved back to her small town, where she took a job as a resort singer to support her three younger siblings financially. Watch Twain talk about her difficult childhood in the video below.

Twain Achieves Music Success

Never giving up on her musical dreams, Twain kept making her own music. Her demo finally made it to Nashville, where she signed with Polygram Records.

Twain released her first album “Shania Twain” in 1993, and it wasn’t a huge success. However, her next album “Woman In Me,” which came out in 1995, was both a critical and commercial success. The next year, Twain scored four Grammy nominations and won Best Country Album.

Twain’s subsequent album Come On Over (1997) cemented her as a true superstar. This album featured some of Twain’s most memorable anthems like “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”

The rest, as they say, is history. Twain has sold over 100 million records, making her the best-selling female artist in country music history. She’s also won five Grammy Awards as well as many other accolades.

Twain’s Las Vegas Residency

Twain is currently in Las Vegas, Nevada for her “Come on Over” residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. In her latest interview, she explained that this residency represents a new era for her.

“I’m sort of letting go of my vulnerabilities more and more,” Twain said. “I am taking more joy in leaping, trusting, and taking chances, experimenting.”

“And I feel like I realize that my boundaries are broader than I realized they were, and I don’t have as many vulnerabilities as I thought I did by going outside of what I thought were my parameters,” she continued.
