Sharon Osbourne has just made a sad announcement about her beloved husband Ozzy that is sure to leave his many fans feeling devastated.

We have truly reached the end of an era.

Sharon’s Announcement About Ozzy

Sharon, 72, has revealed that Ozzy, 76, will be reuniting with Black Sabbath for the last time when they play a fundraising concert in Birmingham, United Kingdom on July 5.

Unfortunately, Sharon has confirmed that this will be Ozzy’s final show ever as his health problems have become too much for him. After the show, that’s all she wrote.

A combination of Parkinson’s and spinal injuries has already forced Ozzy to stop touring. Despite this, he’s determined to play a short solo at the July concert before he joins his Black Sabbath bandmates one last time. Indeed, this will be the first time in twenty years that the original Black Sabbath lineup will be playing together. This lineup consists of Ozzy as well as Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.

“He’s doing great, he’s doing really great,” Sharon told BBC News of Ozzy. “He’s so excited about this, about being with the guys again and all his friends. It’s exciting for everyone.”

Sharon went on to adamantly say that this will be Ozzy’s last show.

“Ozzy didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there’s no been no full stop,” Sharon explained. “This is his full stop.”

Final Concert Lineup

During the July concert, Black Sabbath will be headlining a one-day festival at Villa Park. Other bands on the lineup include Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira, and Anthrax. Additional acts include Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb Of God, and Mastodon.

On top of that, the concert will feature a “supergroup” consisting of stars like Billy Corgan, Slash, Fred Durst, Wolfgang Van Halen, and Tom Morello.

“It’s an endless amount of people,” Sharon stated. “They’re going to be doing some Sabbath songs, some Ozzy songs, and they’ll all mix together. Different little groups will be coming on, but they’re all icons.”

Ozzy has long been open about how much he wants to perform again.

“I’m taking it one day at a time, and if I can perform again, I will,” Ozzy told Rolling Stone UK in November of 2023. “But it’s been like saying farewell to the best relationship of my life.”

“I’m not going to get up there and do a half-hearted Ozzy looking for sympathy,” he added. “What’s the [expletive] point in that? I’m not going up there in a [expletive] wheelchair.”

Ozzy Retires From Touring

Ozzy announced his retirement from touring earlier in 2023.

“This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share with my loyal fans,” Osbourne wrote on Instagram. “As you may all know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine.”

This was a reference to a brutal fall Ozzy suffered at his home in 2019.

“My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage,” he continued. “My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.”

Ozzy went on to say that while he is “humbled” by fans continuing to hold on to their tickets in the hopes that he’ll perform for them again, he can no longer “in good conscience” lead them to believe that this is possible.

“I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required,” he said. “Believe me when I say that the thought of disappointing my fans really [expletive] ME UP, more than you will ever know.”

“Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way,” Ozzy concluded. “My team is currently coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.”

Thankfully, it seems that Ozzy’s team finally figured out a way for him to perform one last time. We hope that this summer’s concert goes well for him and Black Sabbath. If anyone deserves a rocking sendoff, it’s Ozzy Osbourne!
