Country music star Morgan Wallen made a significant contribution to the Hurricane Helene relief efforts by donating $500,000 to the American Red Cross.

The “Whiskey Glasses” singer grew up in Knox County in East Tennessee, an area hard hit by the devastating storm.

In an Instagram story posted Sunday, Wallen indicated that his family was safe, but acknowledged the suffering of others in that area and across several other states that were in Helene’s path.

“My family in East Tennessee are safe, but I know many are absolutely devastated there and in multiple states. All my prayers are geared toward those tonight,” he said, according to Billboard.

“Those hills and hollers are very important to me in so many ways. It is going to take a monumental effort, and I am in contact with my team and others working on ways I can help.”

Morgan Wallen Helping With Hurricane Relief

Part of the ‘monumental effort’ Morgan Wallen is referring to involves resources. And you can’t get resources to the area without money.

As such, he has made a six-figure donation through the Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Red Cross. The foundation is largely funded through ticket sales, with $3 from every purchased seat going to the group.

The Red Cross was very appreciative of the gift, issuing a statement of thanks.

“We can’t thank Morgan Wallen enough for his heart and generous $500,000 donation to impact help on the ground now in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene, including his beloved East Tennessee,” a spokesperson told Knox News.

Country Stars, NASCAR Coming Together

Morgan Wallen isn’t the only country music star who plans on donating time and money to hurricane relief.

North Carolina natives Luke Combs and Eric Church have also said they are seeking ways to help in the ongoing effort.

“Me and my team have been making some calls and I think we’ve got something really special lined up to help the Carolinas as much as we can,” Combs wrote on X.

“To all the families and first responders, you are in our prayers and we are doing everything we can to get you the help you need now,” Church added in a statement.

Perhaps a benefit concert is in the works.

From the stage to the oval, Bounding Into Sports on Monday reported that NASCAR teams and drivers were also finding ways to help out with relief in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

It’s great to see the worlds of sports and entertainment coming together to help those suffering during a tragic time.
