The nominations for the 58th CMA Awards were announced on Monday morning. Morgan Wallen leads the pack in nominations with a total of seven, but he’s facing stiff competition. He will be facing off against the likes of Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson for the top honor at the CMAs!
Wallen Leads The Pack With CMA Nominations
Wallen is up for CMA Awards that include single of the year, song of the year, and music video of the year. He’s also nominated twice in the musical event of the year category.
On top of that, Wallen is nominated for the top honors of the night, which are entertainer of the year and male vocalist of the year. In each of these categories, however, he’s facing strong competition.
In the entertainer of the year category, Wallen is up against Wilson, who won the award last year. He is also facing the incredibly popular Jelly Roll, who is a newcomer to the category. Wallen will additionally be going up against Jelly Roll in the male vocalist of the year category.
Many of Wallen’s nominations came for his song “I Had Some Help,” which he made with Post Malone. Indeed, the song earned four CMA Award nominations for Malone, who is also new to country.

Then there’s Wilson, who is nominated for entertainer of the year, female vocalist of the year, single of the year for “Watermelon Moonshine,” and music video of the year for “Wildflowers and Wild Horses.”
Luke Combs is the final entertainer of the year nominee. He is additionally nominated for male vocalist of the year and album of the year, for Fathers & Sons.
There are also 30 first-time nominees at the CMAs this year. These first-timers include Malone, rising star Shaboozey, and “Stick Season” singer Noah Kahan.
Beyoncé Snubbed By CMAs
Meanwhile, the most shocking snub was arguably Beyoncé, whose chart-topping first entry into the country genre Cowboy Carter included the country music hit “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It made Beyoncé the first black woman to ever top the Hot Country Albums chart.
Despite this, it wasn’t nominated for a single CMA Award. At the time of this writing, Beyoncé has yet to speak out about the snub.
