Rumors have been swirling that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are preparing to divorce after just two years of marriage. Now, these rumors have escalated after Lopez posted a breakup song to her social media on Sunday.
Lopez Posts Breakup Song
Lopez, 54, took to Instagram on Sunday to share the official music video for her song, “Cambia El Paso,” which she released in July of 2021. The song includes a Spanish lyric that when translated to English, reads, “He doesn’t deserve to have her in his arms.”
Cambia El Paso, which means Change the Step in English, also features the lyrics “one, two, three, move forward” and “all she wanna do is just dance, dance, dance, dance.”
“Her life is better now without him … she doesn’t need anyone to be well / She does not fail, she does not fail,” Lopez sings in the song.
Lopez captioned the post by writing, “Happy Anniversary Cambia El Paso.”

‘Do What You Need To Do…’
This song has widely been seen as a “breakup song” due to the nature of its lyrics. Lopez and the Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro released the song in July of 2021 months after she split from the former MLB star Alex Rodriguez.
“The song is about change and not being afraid to take the step. Like, just take the step, advance, do what you need to do,” Lopez said of the song at the time. “If something’s not feeling right, whatever it is in your life, like, just make that move and dance.”
Lopez went on to say that “dance means life and joy and happiness.”
“So, whenever I’m talking about dance… I’m talking about something else,” she added. “You’ve got to be yourself. You’ve got to be happy.”

Lopez And Affleck’s Split Rumors
This comes as rumors have been swirling for weeks that Lopez and Affleck, 51, are calling it quits. They married in July of 2022, but Affleck reportedly recently moved all of his possessions out of their shared home. A source has claimed that Lopez and Affleck have indeed been living separately.
Last week, Lopez and Affleck noticeably spent the Fourth of July holiday apart. She was spotted in the Hamptons in New York with friends, while he was seen in Los Angeles with his three children from his previous marriage to the actress Jennifer Garner.
“They can’t get on the same page [and] have been discussing divorce as an option,” one source recently told US Weekly.
Lopez And Affleck’s History
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Affleck married Garner in 2005 and had three children with her before they divorced in 2018. Meanwhile, Lopez married the singer Marc Anthony, staying with him from 2004 until they divorced in 2014. They had two children together.
A source close to Lopez recently claimed that she is “heartbroken” that she may be headed for divorce once again.
“The marriage is completely over, and Jennifer is heartbroken,” an insider told Fox News about Lopez. “She loves love and wanted this to work so badly.”
Things certainly are not looking good for this couple. All we can do is pray that Lopez and Affleck are somehow able to work things out.
