Chris Martin, the frontman for the band Coldplay, stopped a concert in the nick of time in Sydney, Australia last week to save a young boy from being crushed.
Martin Stops Concert To Save Boy
Martin, 47, was in the middle of his show when he noticed a little boy struggling in the standing section of the crowd. Footage that has quickly gone viral shows Martin stepping in and offering the young boy a safer spot to watch the show.
“You can sit right here, you don’t have to be squeezed,” Martin told the boy.
“You don’t have to be squished by all these adults,” he continued as the child was lifted over stage barriers and moved to a spot next to the runway.
“Sit right there my little brother…better? We’ll take care of you man,” Martin added before continuing his concert.

Coldplay’s Health Scare
This comes after Coldplay’s first stop in Australia was derailed after the band’s bassist Guy Berryman suffered from a health emergency. Martin announced that Coldplay would be performing without Berryman for the first time at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium because the bassist was sick.
“We will have a slightly different show and we’ll do our best to make it amazing because we are in Melbourne with all you beautiful people,” Martin said during the concert.
“If you see some mistakes and problems, it’s because we don’t have our bass player,” he added. “You won’t see Guy tonight because he is vomiting.”
After the show, Coldplay took to Instagram to thank fans for their support and patience.
“Thank you Melbourne,” the band wrote. “Tonight was the first time in our band’s history that we’ve played a show without all four members onstage. Guy was taken ill unexpectedly just before the show. Thank you for carrying us through it.”
Coldplay had their final show in Sydney on Sunday night. They are now heading to Auckland, New Zealand for three sold-out shows. The band will then take a break for the holidays before heading to Abu Dhabi for more concerts in the new year.
Coldplay’s tour has been a massive success, earning more than a billion dollars and selling over 10 million tickets. Last month, the band also released its 10th studio album “Moon Music” to rave reviews.

Martin Sounds Off
“One thing I’d say that we’ve become more comfortable with is just being ourselves,” Martin told CBS Sunday Morning back in September.
“The songs of ours that connected with most people, they connected with me first. I was like, ‘Oh, this is really good,’” he continued.
Martin went on to say that he writes freeform every morning to “stay sane.” He concluded by saying that he loves performing so much that he knows he’ll never stop.
“It’s like asking an apple tree why does it make apples? That’s ‘cause that’s what I was made to do,” he said. “And, also, I’m really happy doing it.”

In stopping his Sydney concert to help a child in need, Martin once again showed what a solid guy he is. If only we had more celebrities in the world like him!
