10. “Drunk on You” – (2011)
Released in 2o11, “Drunk On You” is a touching ode to summer love. Written by Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear, the song is the third single from Bryan’s Tailgates & Tanlines album.
Bryan has said that this is one of his favorite songs to play live.
“I write for the live show period, and I pick songs for the live show,” he previously explained, according to 975 Country.
9. “Drink a Beer” – (2013)
“Drink A Beer” is a powerful ballad that was written by Chris Stapleton and Jim Beavers, and it was the third single from Bryan’s fourth studio album Crash My Party.
After the song came out, Bryan described it as “artistically my best work ever,” as it cast him in an entirely new light.
“I was obviously known as the party guy and the fun guy, and then I was able to really do ‘Drink a Beer,’” Bryan told American Songwriter. “I took a Chris Stapleton demo with his voice and really made it a career song for me.”
8. “I Don’t Want This Night to End” – (2011)
Released at the end of 2011, “I Don’t Want This Night To End” was co-wrote the song alongside Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip.
The song is a “guy meets girl” love story, and it topped the Hot Country Songs chart for one week in February of 2012.
In the years since then, it’s become one of Bryan’s signature songs, and it really does stand the test of time!
7. “Someone Else Calling You Baby” – (2009)
Written by Bryan himself and Jeff Stevens, “Someone Else Calling You Baby” was the third and final single from the country music star’s 2009 album Doin’ My Thing. It quickly became Bryan’s second No. 1 career hit on the chart.
In the song, Bryan confronts his girl after she asked for a break from their relationship, only to find her sitting in a truck in her driveway with another man. Stevens said that the song is about “that raw emotion that you feel when someone you love rejects you,” according to Song Facts.
The song is a favorite of Bryan’s, who described it as “a great, driving, uptempo song.”
6. “Rain Is A Good Thing” – (2009)
“Rain Is A Good Thing” was written by Bryan and Dallas Davidson, and it became the second single from the singer’s 2009 album Doin’ My Thing.
The uptempo song puts a positive spin on rain, something that Bryan feels is important. Bryan said that it was fun to make a song about something that is typically seen as negative and turn it into a positive.
“Rain is very important, and kind of kicks off the whole process of life,” he explained, according to Songfacts.
The song was incredibly popular, spending two weeks atop the Hot Country Songs chart in July of 2010.
5. “Play It Again” – (2013)
Written by Ashley Gorley and Dallas Davidson, “Play It Again” spent a whopping nine weeks atop Hot Country Songs. Bryan described the song as “a fun little love story” at the time of its release.
Bryan loved the buzz around the song from fans, and he still enjoys playing it to this day.
The song earned rave reviews, and it’s easy to see why to this day!
4. “That’s My Kind of Night” – (2013)
“That’s My Kind of Night” was written by Ashley Gorley, Dallas Davidson and Chris DeStefano, and it later became the namesake for Bryan’s 2014-2015 headlining tour. The song was a massive hit, spending 12 weeks at the top of Hot Country Songs.
“It’s a big ole party, riot. The second it comes on, you’ve got to dance and shake and move your head back-and-forth,” Bryan said of the song. “It’s right up my alley. The second I heard it, I was like no doubt I’m cutting it.”

3. “Buy Dirt” (Jordan Davis feat. Luke Bryan) – (2022)
Released at the beginning of 2022, this Jordan Davis song heavily features vocals from Bryan, and it spent four weeks at the top of the Hot Country Songs. It was even named song of the year at the 56th annual CMA Awards.
The song was written by Davis and his brother, and it had a deeply personal meaning to them both.
“[‘Buy Dirt’] was advice that my grandpa had always kind of said,” Davis told Smooth Radio. “It kind of comes back to something that he kind of drilled into us, faith, family and friends.”
Davis was eager to have Bryan sing the song with him, and lucky for all of us, he was happy to sign on!
2. “Do I” – (2009)
Written by Bryan, Dave Haywood, and Charles Kelley, “Do I” is a ballad about the uncertainty and disappointment of a couple as they question the state of their relationship.
Bryan told CMT that “the song is about a couple that doesn’t know if their worlds are right with each other, or they don’t know how their relationship’s going down hill.”
“Do I” peaked at No. 2 on Hot Country Songs and spent a total of 38 weeks on the chart. Among Bryan’s 60 career chart entries (including 14 weeks in the top 10), this song ties for his third-longest stay on the chart.
1. “This Is How We Roll” (Florida Georgia Line feat. Luke Bryan) (2014)
Florida Georgia Line was huge in 2014, when they teamed up with Bryan for “This is How We Roll.” Bryan wrote the song with FGL members Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, along with Cole Swindell.
The song spent six weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, and a remix of the song featuring Bryan and Jason DeRulo came out in June of 2014.
Bryan told CBS News that this was “just right place, right time and great friends letting a buddy in on a song with them.”
