Movie, which is based on the legendary game, fans are hoping to see high-quality performances and story, putting a lot of pressure on Ball and the rest of the team.

Which only makes the news that they found the Zelda and Link actors even more impactful. Bragason is known for her 2017 role in the television series Three Girls, the 2024 movie The Radleys, and she also appeared in the 2021 horror film Censor. Ainsworth can be seen in The Haunting of Bly Manor, Flora & Ulysses, and Pinocchio.

Along with Wes Ball directing the film, Miyamoto will help produce the film, alongside Marvel veteran Avi Arad. While there isn’t much that we know about the film, Ball has mentioned that he wants it to be visually reminiscent of Studio Ghibli movies, but still grounded in reality, which obviously has fans excited.

“I have this awesome idea,” he said. “I’ve been thinking about it for a long freakin’ time, of how cool a Zelda movie would be – I want to fulfill the people’s greatest desires. I know it’s important, this [Zelda] franchise, to people, and I want it to be a serious movie. A real movie that can give people an escape,” Ball previously said when he talked about the movie’s vision.

A follow-up post was made on the X post that reconfirmed May 7 being the release date of the live-action Zelda movie and thanked the fans for their patience after having to delay it.
