Coddling kids has only created a bunch of snotty and entitled young adults who don’t seem to even have basic common sense. But one mom drew a line in the sand and chose old school discipline to teach her disrespectful daughter a lesson.
Amy Adam’s daughter was about to get her driver’s license. The mom already had a vehicle for the girl, a truck the teen loved. But, when her daughter kept breaking the rules, mom brought the hammer down.
Adams reports that her daughter was told she had one more chance and the truck was getting sold. Then, the teen decided to skip school on Monday. So, mom listed the truck on Craigslist. She called herself “World’s Meanest Mom” in the listing.
And the mean mom applied a little salt to her daughter’s wound to teach her a lesson. She wrote in the ad:
“If the person driving the truck on a daily basis will be attending North Branch high school next year you will get a $300 discount. Why? Because I AM the World’s Meanest Mom, and would love for her to be reminded every day next year of all of the mistakes she made.”
BOOM! That’s how you parent. You aren’t your child’s friend. You are their parent and you need to lead the way and point out when they make bad decisions. Adolescence is when you learn to be responsible. And if a teen keeps making bad decisions, she needs a constant reminder to be on the straight and narrow.
The Craigslist ad keeps getting flagged and taken down. Adams believes her daughter’s friends are doing this, but she vows to keep listing it until the truck is sold.
