John D Rockefeller

It’s hard to discount the Rockefeller’s impact on the United States. John D. Rockefeller was and still is a household name in our country. Now, the Rockefeller family is grieving a loss of one of their own.

David Rockefeller was the grandson of John. He was well-known in his own right as the CEO of Chase Manhattan Bank.

A statement from the family acknowledging the 101-year-old billionaire banker’s death highlights his philanthropy. He donated almost $2 billion to schools and other charities.

Rockefeller was considered to be “America’s last great international business statesman,” according to the release in the tweet below.

David was the youngest child of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. He promoted American capitalism, saying it “brought more benefits to more people than any other system in any part of the world at any time in history.”

However, David Rockefeller also confessed to building a more integrated, global political and economic structure. He called it one world. He did so in his memoirs.

Some even believe [the Rockefellers] are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure — one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I’m proud of it.
