A Texas man whose beloved dog was stolen from the backyard searched for weeks without luck. When he got a call that his dog was found in South Carolina, he did what many pet owners would do. He got in his car and made the almost 1000 mile trip to bring his best friend home.
Stolen Dog Found
Dara Prak’s dog Titan went missing in March. He didn’t suspect the dog ran away as his collar was still in the fenced-in backyard. He used social media, searched shelters, and scoured his neighborhood. Titan didn’t appear to be anywhere. Prak kept Titan’s collar and leash in cars in case he found the dog.
Thanks to a microchip, Prak got a call from Greenville, South Carolina that Titan had been found walking the streets. The beloved pit bull had lost weight and was badly injured with canine bites to his eyes. Prak and his girlfriend got in the car and made the 850-mile trip to be reunited with his pup.
“I got that phone call and knew. I just knew I had to get to South Carolina,” he said. “It was about 16 hours with stops. I just can’t wait to see him. I can’t wait to see him. We’re going to be back together. He’s home. He’s my baby.”
Many of us who are lucky enough to be loved by a dog understand this commitment. It’s painful to be separated from your best friend. It would be even worse to know he was in pain. Many of us would go to the ends of the earth for our dogs. Prak didn’t have to go quite that far, but it might have felt like it!
Reunited At Last
This dedicated owner never gave up hope that he would find Titan. As you can see in the emotional video below, tears flowed as he was reunited with his long lost dog. Poor Titan was wearing a cone of shame due to injuries.
What a wonderful reunion. Titan was able to sleep on the ride home. He clearly was at ease finally being back with his family.

This cutie is now back in Houston. His injuries are being treated by a veterinarian and he is recovering from the comfort of his own home.
