What Was Violent Night About?
In the first film, an embittered Santa, played by Stranger Things‘ David Harbour, is losing his holiday magic. However, he has to protect a wealthy family that was taken hostage by mercenaries, bringing back his holiday spirit through a little girl’s beliefs.
Alongside Harbour, the film starred John Leguizamo, Alex Hassell, and Beverly D’Angelo. While Mrs. Claus is yet to be seen, hopefully, she will appear in the second installment.
Success of the First Film
Violent Night proved to be popular among fans. The studio earned $50 million in domestic showings and $70 million from worldwide markets. The budget for the film was around $20 million.

New Additions to the World
Tommy Wirkola and the writers are already looking to expand the universe in a Violent Night sequel, with details not able to fit in the first movie.
“We don’t see the North Pole, we don’t see Mrs. Claus and we don’t see the elves. There were also a few ideas that we loved in the script, but we had to cut them because we couldn’t afford to shoot them,” said Wirkola in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Hopefully, we will get all of these scenes and more when Violent Night 2 comes out.
