
Rising stars Lewis Pullman and Maya Hawke will join forces for a brand new surrealist romantic comedy, Wishful Thinking.
First reported by Variety, the pair will play lovers struggling with forces beyond their control, marking the directorial debut of Graham Parkes. Learn more about the upcoming film below.

What is Wishful Thinking About?
Wishful Thinking is about a volatile couple (Pullman and Hawke) who discover their emotional state has consequences on the world around them. The unsteady romance is causing bizarre physical reactions in the real world.
The couple must decide whether to fight for their relationship or accept that their powerful connection is doing more harm than good, and save the world as they know it by splitting apart.
Behind the Scenes
Graham Parkes will be the writer-director for Wishful Thinking. Highway 10, Buckwild, and Pinky Promise will be the production companies behind the project.
Producers and executive producers include Matt Smith, Dan Gedman, Graham Patrick Martin, Cameron Fuller, and Kara Durrett.
This will be the directorial debut for Parkes, a video game designer who co-created the acclaimed 2021 game Before Your Eyes. Its follow-up game, Goodnight Universe, will be released later this year.

Who are the Stars?
Lewis Pullman
Lewis Pullman’s most recent projects have catapulted him into the limelight. Pullman is the son of Bill Pullman and made his film debut in The Ballad of Lefty Brown. His impact increased with supporting roles in Bad Times at the El Royale and Top Gun: Maverick. Pullman then received an Emmy nomination, starring alongside Brie Larson in Lessons in Chemistry.
This year, he jumped into the superhero world playing Bob Reynolds and his super-powered self, the Sentry, in Marvel’s Thunderbolts*.
In the future, Pullman will reprise his role as Bob in Avengers: Doomsday, along with the historical musical Ann Lee, the adaptation Remarkably Bright Creatures, and the long-awaited sequel Spaceballs 2.
Maya Hawke
Maya Hawke is the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke and has quickly become a star. Starting as one of many up-and-coming stars in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Hawke landed her quintessential role in Stranger Things. She plays an ice cream parlor employee named Robin, and will reprise her role for the final season this year.
Upcoming roles include starring in Wilder and Me, Lucia, and playing a younger version of Wiress in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
