A Deeper Dive into the Plot
Taking place five years after 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion, there’s a lot to pick up in the second trailer. It opens on a team of scientists in hazmat suits, one stuck in a containment space with a terrifying dinosaur. Wrapped in its clutches, the film already has a sinister tone.
As the film cuts to Johansson and Ali landing on the island, Zora Bennett (Johansson) states, “The theme park owners did experimental work, leaving only the worst ones here.”
This immediately ups the stakes, as new and incredibly dangerous dinosaurs could soon be joining the fray. Bennett and her team must collect DNA from some of these dinosaurs while also trying to stay alive.
More Characters Revealed
While we see similar characters from the first trailer in the Jurassic World Rebirth trailer 2, there are some new supporting characters to note.
This includes the Delgado family, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, and Audrina Miranda. The family gets shipwrecked during a boating expedition by aquatic dinosaurs, and now must try to escape the terrors of the island.
One scene features the family paddling on a raft away from a Tyrannosaurus Rex as the creature gets closer and closer. The family will soon find themselves in the same space as the scientists, all fighting for their lives.

Something Old, Something New
This new trailer combines old and new aspects of the Jurassic Park franchise that recent films have drawn away from. The scientists are heading to the original Jurassic Park, but it has changed from subsequent research, adding new and horrifying obstacles.
Even the music is reminiscent of the original John Williams score, but it will bring in new elements from the composer Alexandre Desplat. Hopefully, it will bring back old fans and introduce new ones to the franchise.
Masters Behind the Screen
There is some star power hiding behind the camera. Gareth Edwards, director of Rogue One, Godzilla, and The Creator, among others, is also directing this reboot. While he intended to take a break in 2024 from directing and focus on writing his newest idea for a film, the Jurassic opportunity was presented.
“This is the only movie that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right in,” Edwards commented. “I think the first movie is a cinematic masterpiece…so this opportunity is like a dream to me.”
As for the script, it was written by David Koepp, who penned the original 1993 film and its sequel, The Lost World. This will be his first return to the franchise since 1997.
