Comcast is widening its streaming reach by launching Peacock Premium Plus, the ad-free tier of its Peacock service, directly on Amazon Prime Video Channels.

This is the first time NBCUniversal, Comcast’s media division, has made Peacock Premium Plus accessible within Prime Video. Prime members are now able to subscribe seamlessly without needing to download additional apps.

The service costs $16.99/month or $169.99/annually, adding onto the over 100 other subscription options through Prime Video’s centralized billing. Learn more here.

Agreement Between Comcast and Amazon

The expansion is part of a broader agreement renewal with Comcast and Amazon. It not only introduces Peacock Premium Plus on Prime Video but also provides access to Peacock on Amazon Fire TV devices.

The deal also renews Universal Pictures movie rentals and purchases through Prime, and enables streaming of Prime Video content on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 platform. This partnership aims to increase visibility of NBCUniversal’s content and enhance access to live sports, like Sunday Night Football, Premier League matches, and Olympic coverage.

Peacock has 41 million subscribers and has reduced its quarter losses recently, showing positive momentum in its growth strategy.

The industry has also responded positively to Comcast’s decisions. Across 31 brokerage firms, Comcast has an “Outperform” recommendation, reflecting a positive outlook for the company.

Stocks for the company have also risen slightly, with a projected increase of 21%, to put stocks at an average of $40.56. With several companies pitching in numbers of growth in stocks and subscribers, Comcast’s plan to expand into other platforms has worked to its advantage.

Peacock Price Changes

The timing of Comcast’s new agreement coincides closely with Peacock’s price adjustments.

Effective in July 2025, the ad-supported Premium plan is now $10.99/month, while Peacock Premium Plus is $16.99. Comcast also provided a new “Select” tier at $7.99/month to attract niche audiences by providing current NBC and Bravo shows and select library content.

The pricing changes reflect the expansion of live sports content on the service through 2026, with Peacock looking to compete more aggressively with Amazon Prime, Paramount+, Hulu, HBO Max, Apple TV, and Netflix.

Increasing Subscriber Growth

The partnership between Comcast and Amazon strives for the larger goal of increasing subscriber numbers by integrating Peacock into one of the most well-known streaming platforms in the United States.

Amazon Prime Video Channels already hosts several streaming services, such as HBO Max and Apple TV+, so Peacock is merely taking another step to compete with the giants.

Furthermore, the various contractual swaps with content from Xfinity X1 and Universal Studios strengthen the cross-platform connection for both companies.

With the combined power of Comcast’s content and Amazon’s distribution, Peacock Premium Plus is rolling out on Prime Video and presenting a notable change in the streaming wars.
