2016 might very well be a great year. And this new trend is kicking it off. Meat Cocktails are becoming popular and it’s easy to see why. Meat pairs well with booze.

These drinks will have you reaching for your liquor cabinet and the meat drawer in your fridge.

Who cares if it’s shaken and not stirred? It’s got bacon!

This drink is made with Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 infused with smoked bacon and maple syrup. It’s garnished with a piece of maple bacon and an egg gummy.

You can get the recipe at London Cocktail Club.

Bartenders at The Powder Keg Diplomacy (PKD) have upped the ante by infusing vodka by “fat washing” it. They add oil or fat to the vodka. After it’s been sitting at room temperature for a few hours, it is chilled. Then the fat is skimmed off the top, leaving a meaty flavor.

The drink can also be garnished with meat.

This is also from The Powder Keg Diplomacy. They cook smoked pork fat for a few days then use that to infuse vodka. They add clamato juice and garnish with crispy maple cured bacon.

This is a favorite drink at Sushi Samba. They use the “fat washing” technique like PKD, but with Kobe beef fat. Then, they add a mixture of maple and salted caramel to create this unique drink.

You can get this belly pork infused mojito at The Meat Bar in Scotland.
