Air Force senior airman Emily Leehan and Marine Sgt. Joshua Newville got married over the weekend, but Newville’s son is the one gaining national attention.
In addition to making a vow to her groom, Leehan also read vows to her new stepson. The love was overwhelming to four-year-old Gage who grasped onto his stepmom when he started to feel emotional. “Don’t cry” she said as she comforted her new stepson. Gage sobbed as he felt all the love Emily dished upon him as they officially became a family of three.
“The last thing that I hope you learn is that you are a very special boy. You are so extremely smart, handsome and kind to others,” Emily told Gage. “You have helped make me into the woman I am today, and I may not have given you the gift of life, but life surely gave me the gift of you.”
This family shows that blended families can work great together. Love can conquer so much as the video below demonstrates.`
The new family spoke to Today about this viral video. Gage said he was so touched by his stepmom’s supportive and kind words that he even continued crying after the wedding.
What a terrific way to start a new life together. The whole country is celebrating their new marriage with them. Gage certainly is a very loved little four-year-old boy! Every child deserves to be loved in this manner. How different this world would be if every kid was showered with love like Gage receives.
Both the bride and the groom are active duty members of the military. Therefore, their honeymoon will have to wait. After the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Newville returned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Trenton, New Jersey.
