When a bomb goes off, instead of destruction we are back in Cris and Elizabeth’s motel room as it was “just a dream.”

Fifth on our list of most confusing plot twists is Cosmopolis. The film takes place over a single day in billionaire Eric’s life as he tries to get across Manhattan during riots for a haircut. Eric meets his potential murderer, accepting his fate as a gun is pointed at him, and the movie screen goes black and leaves viewers full of questions.

3. Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’s Alien Archaeologists

While most of Indiana Jones is based on myths and secrets, the supernatural doesn’t often enter the conversation. That is, until the fourth installment. The mysterious crystal skull belongs to interdimensional alien archaeologists, who later fly away in a ship. This is never discussed again and was totally out of character for an Indiana Jones film.

2. Remember Me’s 9/11 Death
