Check out these six films with confusing plot twists below.
6. Next’s “It was all a dream”

Starting our list of most confusing plot twists is Next. Cris Johnson can see into the future for two minutes at a time. He meets Elizabeth Cooper through one of his visions but is soon plunged into an international threat between the FBI and terrorists. When a bomb goes off, instead of destruction we are back in Cris and Elizabeth’s motel room as it was “just a dream.”

5. Cosmopolis’ Drastic Ending

Fifth on our list of most confusing plot twists is Cosmopolis. The film takes place over a single day in billionaire Eric’s life as he tries to get across Manhattan during riots for a haircut. While strange to begin with, the ending stumps viewers. Eric meets his potential murderer, accepting his fate as a gun is pointed at him, and the movie screen goes black and leaves viewers full of questions.

4. Tenet’s Mind-Warping

Next up for the most confusing plot twists is Tenet, a Nolan film requiring a keen eye to keep up with the various storylines. Focused on reversing time, many events do not make sense until later in the movie, but the ending takes the cake. An inverted soldier takes a bullet for the protagonist who ends up being a future Neil. But, Neil recruits the protagonist, and the protagonist finally realizes he is Tenet’s founder. Wait, what?

3. Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’s Alien Archaeologists

Rounding out our top three most confusing plot twists is Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. While most of Indiana Jones is based on myths and secrets, the supernatural doesn’t often enter the conversation. That is, until the fourth installment. The mysterious crystal skull belongs to interdimensional alien archaeologists, who later fly away in a ship. This is never discussed again and was totally out of character for an Indiana Jones film.

Second on our list of most confusing plot twists is Remember Me. While it was an okay rom-com, the ending revealed way more questions than answers. Along with no setup for the fateful event, the film premiered just nine years after the attack, leaving viewers with a bitter taste.

1. Predestination’s Time Paradox

Last but not least, on our most confusing plot twists list is Predestination. Right from the start, we have no idea who the protagonist is, which leads to future confusion. The protagonist is a temporal agent who must go back in time to prevent an attack, but an enemy stops him. As the time paradoxes continue to multiply, the ending is the icing on the cake. The protagonist realizes he has been reproducing himself in time, becoming his own daughter, father, mother, and grandfather. What?
