A California woman officially entered the contest for Idiot of the Year by filing a frivolous lawsuit against Jelly Belly for having sugar in their jelly beans!

Jessica Gomez of San Bernadino County might as well have taken out an ad telling everyone she is stupid! She claims in her class-action lawsuit she didn’t know that Jelly Belly’s Sports Beans have sugar in them. Instead, the ingredient listed is “evaporated cane juice.” Even a 1st grader would know that it sugar cane! It’s candy!

Gomez is claiming Jelly Belly is using “fancy phrasing” to deceive people into thinking these jelly beans don’t have sugar. Does she think jelly beans are grown on trees? What are they teaching in California schools? This woman is either an idiot or trying to get a quick cash grab.

She is taking some hits on Twitter for her frivolous lawsuit.

Jelly Belly is trying to get the case dismissed claiming that a reasonable person would realize there is sugar in jelly beans.

“No reasonable consumer could have been deceived by Sport Beans’ labeling – Gomez could not have seen ‘evaporated cane juice’ without also seeing the product’s sugar content on its Nutrition Facts panel,” the company said.

Gomez may get some backup from the FDA since it stated last May that “juice” refers to a fruit or vegetable. Of course, that was under the Obama Administration. Hopefully, President Trump’s Administration will take this nonsense for what it is and make changes that will not give any legs to stupid lawsuits like this in the future.

Anyone who joins her on this class action lawsuit is bound to be called an idiot and a gold digger.  Only an idiot wouldn’t realize there is sugar in jelly beans! This is why we can’t have nice things!

Share this if you think she’s an idiot!
