6. M3GAN (2022)

Starting our list of horror movies is M3GAN. Robotics engineer Gemma becomes the guardian of her orphaned niece, Cady. As she tries to connect with Cady, Gemma decides her new AI robot may be a great companion for her. Unfortunately, M3GAN begins to act in unexpected and horrifying ways, leaving some carnage in her wake. It highlights the potential dangers of AI, while also offering some amusing moments.

Fifth on our list of horror movies is Nope, directed by Jordan Peele, a fan-favorite in the horror industry. In this 2022 film, two siblings catch a glimpse of an unidentified flying object on their horse ranch. While they try to get evidence of its existence, a nearby entertainer wants to use the phenomenon for profit. Unfortunately, for all involved, the UFO is much more than they bargained for, and perfect for a monster-movie lover.

4. The Exorcist (1973)

Next on our list of horror movies is a classic, and one of the most profitable horror movies ever made: The Exorcist. Plus, the film is loosely based on real events, making the whole plot even scarier. The movie focuses on young Regan, who starts acting in strange ways. Her mother tries taking her to a doctor, to no avail. A local priest believes the girl has been possessed and requires an exorcism to return to normal.

3. 28 Days Later (2002)

Rounding out the top three horror movies on our list is 28 Days Later. There have been many zombie films over the years, but something about this film terrifies viewers in the best way. The movie centers around a man who wakes up from a coma, finding his city abandoned after a mysterious virus has taken over Great Britain. Those who are afflicted turn into rage-filled zombies. The best part about this film is that it’s shot on lower-quality cameras, making the whole thing look like a found-footage film.

Second on our list of horror movies is Sinners. The newest film on our list, it’s brings an interesting take to the vampire genre by blending horror, blues music, and historical themes into one. Twin brothers are trying to leave their troubled lives behind, returning to their Mississippi hometown. Intending to restart their lives, they instead discover an even greater evil waiting to welcome them.

Last but not least on our list of horror movies is Halloween. You can have the holiday without the film, and there’s nothing better than a Halloween movie marathon to get you properly terrified. After being in prison for fifteen years for murdering his sister on Halloween in 1963, Michael Myers escapes his captivity the night before Halloween. Returning to Haddonfield, Illinois, the night will surely end in a lot of screams and blood.
