A lot of people vilify the police these days. But a young girl in San Antonio recently performed a touching act of kindness and solidarity when she prayed with a group of police officers at a restaurant:

Paige Vazquez was at a restaurant with her family when she saw a table of police officers sitting nearby. She approached the group and asked if she could pray for them.

“I know they have a rough time sometimes, and sometimes a little prayer can make someone’s day,” Vazquez told Inside Edition. “I decided to do that just in case they’re having a rough day.”

Vazquez’s grandmother, Martha Bosquez, snapped a photo of the sweet moment and posted it to Facebook. The incredibly touching and inspiring photograph has been shared more than four thousand times.

The kicker? Paige’s prayer was right on time. The San Antonio Police Department had just laid to rest 32-year-old Officer Miguel Moreno, who was shot and killed in the line of duty.

If that doesn’t give you chills, I don’t know what will!

But according to Vazquez’s family, her loving act came as no shock to them:

“She’s very caring. She’s very loving,” her mother, Kat Garcia, told Inside Edition. “It’s just something that comes to her naturally. It just amazes me because she’s so young.”

Paige told Inside Edition that she prays for everyone, especially police officers. This thoughtful young girl said the police officers were surprised and happy to pray with her. She was happy to make them smile.

“Don’t be afraid to talk about Jesus because it might just brighten someone’s day,” Paige said.

Paige details her prayerful experience in the video below.

Kudos to Vazquez and her family; we need to raise more children who respect the police in this way!
