The reality television star Kim Kardashian is speaking out this week to claim that at the age of 43, she only has ten years left of still looking “good.” She is also alleging that getting Botox may have already ruined her acting career.
Kardashian Sounds Off
On Thursday’s episode of her family’s reality TV show The Kardashians, Kardashian proudly declared that she is in her “actress era.” She recently starred in the latest season of the Ryan Murphy television series American Horror Story. With a new movie The 5th Wheel in the works, Kardashian is planning to expand her acting résumé in the coming years.
In Kardashian’s mind, it’s a race against time to do as much film and TV work as she can before she ages too much.
“I can do a movie a year; I’ve got about 10 years where I still look good, so that’s all I’ve got in me and then I’ll take some time off. … That’s my 10-year plan,” she said, according to Page Six.
Kardashian’s Botox Concerns
Kardashian went on to admit that her use of Botox may have already harmed her acting career.
“I also feel like you need less Botox for more emotion, and I don’t have it,” she lamented.
When it comes to her looks, however, Kardashian is not willing to sacrifice her beauty for any acting role.
“I’m not going to be gaining 500 pounds for a role and losing it … that just like not where I need to be,” she explained. “How am I going to cry? How am I going to be scared out of my mind?”
To prove her point for how difficult it is for her to show emotion thanks to her Botox, Kardashian attempted to raise her eyebrows, which did little to her forehead.

Experts Weigh In
Experts, however, are not so sure about the accuracy of Kardashian’s Botox concerns.
“It does not affect or impact on your ability to show emotion. There are many successful actors who utilize its youthful effects and are quite able to give award-winning performances,” Kathy Fielder, CEO at THRIVE by Kathy Fielder, told Fox News. “Makeup artists can work ‘magic’ with their craft to create a lot of emotion on your face as well.”
Brian Balthazar of Balthazar Entertainment agreed, saying, “Botox need not be a concern. Look at the foreheads of some of your favorite actresses – and actors for that matter! Many of them are smoother than a porcelain plate!”
“They’re still getting work, they’re still crying on command,” he continued. “We’ve gotten accustomed to performers having perfect, wrinkle-free skin. That’s not without help. I can’t see that being a huge issue. What it will come down to is if she can deliver convincing performances.”

Kardashian’s Next Movie
Kardashian is currently focusing all of her energy on her Netflix movie The 5th Wheel. She is set to star in the comedic film, which is being written by the Saturday Night Live! alums Paula Pell and Janine Brito. Kardashian and Pell are also producing the movie, according to Variety.
“I’m really nervous about it ’cause I have to […] deliver,” Kardashian said. “It’s such a challenge for me, and I want to welcome a challenge, and I’m like, every year I want to do something that makes me so uncomfortable that I really have to challenge myself.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how Kardashian’s acting career turns out for her in the years to come!
