The Hollywood star Jim Carrey has been facing challenges in selling his Los Angeles home, which he listed for sale over a year ago.
Originally priced at just under $29 million, the property has seen multiple price reductions due to a lack of buyers.
The most recent listing price is $21.9 million, marking the third time Carrey has had to lower the original asking price, according to Fox Business.
For those wondering about the math, that represents a nearly 25% decrease for the 11,000-square-foot house.
The estate, which Carrey has owned for nearly 30 years, is located in the upscale Brentwood neighborhood and features a tennis court, waterfall pool, and a custom Art Deco theater among its amenities.
The actor has described it as a “place of enchantment and inspiration.”
Despite its luxurious features and Carrey’s celebrity status, the property has lingered on the market.

Why Doesn’t Carrey Make Movies Anymore?
The Dumb and Dumber star, while not officially retired from acting, has expressed a desire to step away from the spotlight and focus on other aspects of his life.
He enjoys his painting and other personal interests.
“I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life, and I feel like – and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists – I have enough,” he told Access Hollywood in 2022.
“I’ve done enough,” he added. “I am enough.”
Enjoying the quiet life means no new movies. Except for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise – of which there are three films – and a TV series called Kidding, Carrey hasn’t starred in a significant film in nearly 10 years.
In interviews, he has mentioned that he wants to be “frighteningly normal” and has hinted at a possible retirement from acting. The Truman Show actor has also been vocal about his views on the entertainment industry.
He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2018 that he “didn’t like what was happening” in his field and he “just didn’t want to be in the business anymore.”

Carrey’s Best Movies
Carrey may be struggling to sell his home, but he’s produced a legacy in Hollywood that is nearly unmatched as a comedian.
Here are some of his top movies:
The Truman Show (1998)
A man discovers his entire life is a reality TV show and decides to escape it. This thought-provoking film, well ahead of its time, presents a prescient vision of celebrity culture and society’s voyeuristic tendencies through reality TV.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
A couple undergoes a procedure to erase each other from their memories after a painful breakup. Both this film and the aforementioned The Truman Show showcased Carrey as a more serious actor.
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)
A quirky detective specializes in retrieving lost or stolen animals. This film launched Carrey’s career as a leading man in comedic roles and produced several memorable catchphrases.
Dumb and Dumber (1994)
Two dimwitted friends go on a cross-country trip to return a briefcase full of money to its owner. This buddy comedy is a classic and demonstrated how Carrey could even produce laughs when teamed up with a traditional actor like Jeff Daniels.
Liar Liar (1997)
A lawyer who lies for a living is cursed to tell the truth for 24 hours. Nowhere is the actor’s physical comedy and quick, rapier jokes more on display than in this classic movie.
