Whoopi Goldberg has been making headlines as of late with her increasingly bizarre behavior on The View. Things got weird on the ABC talk show once again on Monday morning when Goldberg sounded off on the death of ICU nurse Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Goldberg Sounds Off
“They murdered a man. He is standing, he has his phone and he has a bottle of water. And they shot him ten times. What the —,” Goldberg, 70, said as she became visibly emotionial. “I don’t know what you’re investigating, if you’re not investigating the straight up murder — the straight up murder. This is the second one, the second murder of an American citizen.”
“If you don’t see it, it’s willful,” she continued. “It’s because you’re not looking. You can’t sit by this.”
Not stopping there, Goldberg proceeded to call out Kristi Noem. Indeed, Noem is the current secretary of homeland security and the Border Patrol Commander.
“Kristi Noem, you can’t justify this. Mr. Bovino, you can’t justify this,” Goldberg said. “You can’t justify either one, and we all see it and we see you for what you are. You all have blood on your hands.”

Goldberg’s Co-Hosts Respond
Goldberg’s liberal co-hosts were quick to agree with her.
“This government does something that I am not used to saying about a U.S. government,” said The View co-host Ana Navarro. “It lies to the citizens, it lies to the people. So, for them, a camera is just as dangerous as a gun. What they don’t want is for people to see the truth.”
“The people that seem to be bringing the violence are the ICE agents themselves. I know there are good ICE agents. The problem is they’re currently recruiting people using imagery from single-shooter games, giving them this vibe that they’re coming to get rid of vermin, and they’re also telling them they have immunity,” added co-host Sara Haines. “They’re not even getting investigated properly. The administration has spoken and set the tone for this. That’s what we’re seeing right now. That’s why people are being killed completely unjustly.”
This is far from the first time that Goldberg has stuck her foot in her mouth with a racial rant on The View.
Back in 2022, she was suspended for two weeks after claiming that the Holocaust, in which around six million Jews were killed by the Nazis, was “not about race.”

Goldberg’s Iran Controversy
In June of 2025, Goldberg stirred up more controversy when she seemingly claimed that being black in America is worse than being a woman in Iran. She made this claim despite Iran being under a brutal dictatorship.

Insiders are claiming that all of these controversies are starting to catch up with Goldberg at ABC. Indeed, sources have claimed that Goldberg has allegedly been on thin ice with network higher-ups as of late.
Back in October, an insider claimed that ABC executives are so fed up with Goldberg’s nonsense that they are “looking hard at a refresh — maybe even a total overhaul” of The View’s panel.
“Executives are tired of cleaning up her messes,” the insider alleged. “Patience is running out.”
Goldberg has shown herself to be a true loose cannon. It’s clear that there’s no telling what bizarre and unhinged thing will come out of her mouth next.
Goldberg’s latest comments will likely do nothing when it comes to helping her stay on at ABC. Only time will tell if Goldberg lasts on ABC until the end of 2o26!
