Whoopi Goldberg came unglued on her ABC talk show The View once again on Thursday morning. This time, she lost it on the Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz after they announced the softening of alcohol guidelines in the United States.

Goldberg Melts Down

On Wednesday, Kennedy announced the new 2025-2030 U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans. These updated guidelines notably removed the limit of daily alcoholic drinks. While explaining this change, Kennedy suggested that American adults should “consume less alcohol for better overall health.”

Dr. Oz then chimed in to describe alcohol as being a “social lubricant that brings people together.”

“In the best case scenario, I don’t think you should drink alcohol,” he admitted. “But it does allow people an excuse to kind of socialize and there’s probably nothing healthier than having a good time with friends in a safe way.”

“So does weed!” Goldberg fired back on The View the next morning. “That’s a lubricant too.”

Goldberg’s co-host Joy Behar spoke out to joke, “I’m not an expert on sex but it’s not a good lubricant. I’ll tell you that right now.”

Kennedy’s New Dietary Guidelines

In Wednesdays press conference, Kennedy also announced some new federal dietary guidelines. These measures are meant to promote eating healthy fats and protein-rich meals, including red meat and full-fat dairy. The guidelines also aim to limit highly processed foods.

Goldberg refrained from directly addressing Kennedy’s new guidelines in her meltdown. However, she made a point of telling viewers that they should “stick with” what their doctors recommend.

Meanwhile, Goldberg’s co-host Sunny Hostin defiantly said that she will not be following Kennedy’s new guidelines.

“He’s the least qualified health secretary we’ve ever had in the history of the United States of America in my view,” she lamented. “I just can’t listen t o any of the guidelines. I don’t trust them and I hate to say that as someone who worked for the government.”

That being said, Hostin confessed that she’s “interested” in Dr. Oz’s new guidelines regarding alcohol consumption.

“I will like to say, as someone that likes to indulge in a glass of wine now and then, I was interested in the fact that now it’s a social lubricant,” she joked. “It’s okay for me to have my Belle Glos and it’s okay for me to have my champagne and my rosé.”

Behar concluded the women’s rant by questioning if Kennedy’s new food pyramid was missing anything.

“Where’s roadkill on that pyramid?” Behar quipped.

Dr. Oz Defends Alcohol Stance

Goldberg and her friends can mock and attack Kennedy and Oz all that they want to, but they are standing by their new guidelines. In updating alcohol guidelines, Dr. Oz cited “Blue Zones” around the world that record exceptional life expectancy. Examples of these “Blue Zones” include Okinawa in Japan and Sardinia in Italy.

“You look at the Blue Zones, for example, around the world, where people live the longest. Alcohol is sometimes part of their diet,” Dr. Oz said on Wednesday. “Again, small amounts.”

“There is alcohol on these dietary guidelines, but the implication is don’t have it for breakfast,” he concluded. “The general move away from two glasses for men, one glass for women. There was never really good data to support that quantity of alcohol consumption.”

Because they are members of Donald Trump’s administration, there was no winning for Kennedy and Dr. Oz when it came to Goldberg. In the end, Goldberg and her fellow hosts of The View were always going to have a problem with anything these two men did. This just serves as a reminder once again that Goldberg is hopelessly infected with Trump derangement syndrome.

Good riddance, Whoopi Goldberg!
