Vanilla Ice is defiantly refusing to drop out of performing at the Great American State Fair’s Freedom 250 concerts in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Instead, he’s speaking out to defend America, which he describes as being “the greatest country in the world.”
Vanilla Ice Is ‘Proud’ Of America
Over the past few days, entertainers like Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Young MC, and more have been dropping out of performing at Freedom 250. They’ve claimed that they made this decision to not perform because the multi-day celebration is not as nonpartisan as they initially believed.
Vanilla Ice, however, is not having any of that. Indeed, he wants the world to know that he is “proud” to be performing at an event that celebrates the birthday of the country that he loves.
“I don’t like anybody telling me I can’t be proud of my country,” Vanilla Ice, 58, told Fox News. “I’m born here, I’m raised here. I’m proud of it. I represent it everywhere I go. I wear the American Flag everywhere I go.”
“It’s just a shame that it’s going down like this,” he continued. “I really don’t think it’s fair on us as musicians to have the pressure put on us like this, but it’s a shame. It’s a shame that we can’t be proud.”
Vanilla Ice went on to say that he doesn’t understand why this has become such an issue among fans and performers. Unlike the likes of Michaels and McBride, Vanilla Ice feels “honored to do this once in a lifetime event.”
“This is still the greatest country in the world,” the rapper insisted.
“I’m proud of it and I love it and I’m really really proud of all of our soldiers,” Vanilla Ice concluded. “Those guys put their life on the line, some of them even lost their lives, and you gotta respect that. This is our country, man. I can’t believe people are even making a big deal out of this.”

Vanilla Ice ‘Honored’ To Perform At Freedom 250
This comes days after Vanilla Ice took to Instagram to post a video in which he said that he is “honored” to be performing at this event. He also pledged to “bring back the 90s” with his performance.
“It’s all about enjoying the great times of 250 years,” Vanilla Ice gushed. “From George Washington to now. All the presidents and everybody in between, this is a magical event that’s gonna happen. It’s very rare. I’m honored, man. This is gonna be epic. And that’s it. We don’t take anything too seriously, and we’re gonna bring the ‘90s, that’s how it works.”
In the caption, Vanilla Ice wrote that this concert will “bring us all together” while also being “an epic party.”
“We are all one,” Vanilla Ice stated. “This is not a political platform. This is celebrating America’s birthday.”
Social media users took to the comments section to praise Vanilla Ice for performing at this patriotic event.
“Major respect for not dropping out like the others!! 🇺🇸❤️,” one social media user wrote. Another added, “🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 I support you! Thank you for being true to America.”
“We are🇺🇸proud of you,” a third user commented. A fourth stated, “You’re a great American!”
“You’re going to get called a bunch of names (ignore the haters), but I applaud you for doing this with conviction. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸,” yet another social media user wrote.
Vanilla Ice ‘Committed’ To Perform
Earlier this week, Vanilla Ice stood by his decision to not drop out of the Freedom 250 concerts.
“It’s such a cool thing to go celebrate your country and enjoy the birthday,” Vanilla Ice said on Monday. “I’m reinforced. I’m here. I am committed.”
“Once you commit, you don’t quit, man. And that’s how I am,” he concluded. “I was so honored, man, my mom is proud of me, everybody.”
It’s sad that so many performers have allowed the hateful left to pressure them into backing out of the Freedom 250 event.
This is meant to be a celebration of America’s 250th birthday, and these stars should have felt honored to even be asked to perform. It’s a shame that the left has politicized this when it solely should have been about loving America.
We applaud Vanilla Ice for refusing to cave to this pressure and deciding to still perform at these patriotic concerts anyway. If only we had more celebrities out there who were as brave enough to express their love for America as he is.
God bless you, Vanilla Ice, and God bless America!
