Earlier this month, we reported that the actress Lori Loughlin has separated from her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli after 28 years of marriage. Now, Loughlin’s former Full House co-star John Stamos has broken his silence about her situation by slamming her ex Giannulli.
Stamos Defends Loughlin
Stamos, 62, held nothing back as he ripped into Giannulli, 62, while defending Loughlin, 61, as he appeared on the Good Guys podcast on Monday.
“I’m just heartbroken for her right now,” Stamos said of Loughlin. “She’s just devastated. For a girl who has lived her life really well, a good person, a good mother, a good wife — I know all this for a fact — to be thrown into now this separation and, you know, exploding, blowing up her family this way. I just hate to see her go through this. I really do.”
Stamos went on to say that he “really tried to be there for her during this time, and also with the college scandal.”
This was a reference to Loughlin and Giannulli’s infamous college admissions scandal. They made headlines back in 2019 when they were indicted for allegedly paying $500,000 to have their daughters Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli’s admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team. They did this despite the fact that neither daughter had ever taken part in crew.
Though they initially fought the allegations against them, they finally gave in after a media firestorm that lasted for month. In May of 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud.
Loughlin was ultimately sentenced to two months in prison, serving out her sentence from October to December of 2020. Meanwhile, Giannulli was sentenced to five months behind bars. He began his sentence in November of 2020 and was released to home confinement in April of 2021.
Giannulli Is ‘A Terrible Narcissist’
According to Stamos, however, Giannulli’s bad behavior goes far beyond the college admissions scandal. When host Ben Soffer said that he’s heard that Giannulli is “supposedly not a very good guy” and may have been unfaithful, Stamos replied: “I’m taking the Fifth on that, but whatever he did busted her up to the core.”
“She put up with a lot over the years with this guy,” Stamos said. “She is an angel and she always made things better.”
“Look, he’s a very successful dude. I will never talk to him again. He’s a terrible narcissist, and I don’t think you ever get out of that,” he continued. “When you have a wife like that and a family like that, how do you bust that up?”
Stamos went on to say that he and his wife Caitlin McHugh have been standing by Loughlin during this split.
“She lives in my neighborhood,” he explained. “Caitlin’s been good about it. [Loughlin is] a girl who, you know, has lived her life really well, a good person, a good mother, [and] a good wife.”

Loughlin ‘Devastated’ By Split
This comes after insiders alleged that Loughlin has been left “devastated” by this breakup. Despite this, they added that there is “no chance” of her and Giannulli reconciling.
“People around Lori and Mossimo have known they have been going through a really hard time in the last year,” a source told US Weekly earlier this month. “This isn’t a shock to people around them. It has been a rough time for Lori. She is devastated.”
The insider went on to say that Loughlin “thought a break could help” her relationship with Giannulli. Unfortunately for her, however, “they are not on the same page.”
“They will not reconcile — there is currently no chance — and will ultimately divorce,” the source explained.
Though Giannulli has “been on dates” since the split, Loughlin “has not,” according to the insider.
This is clearly a very difficult situation for everyone involved. Please join us in saying a prayer for Loughlin as she navigates this new chapter of her life!
