Earlier this week, we reported that the legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne had passed away at age 76 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. We then reported on what turned out to be Ozzy’s final days.
Prior to his death, Ozzy had been married to his beloved wife Sharon Osbourne for 43 years. Now, Sharon’s powerful final act of love for Ozzy has been revealed.
Sharon’s Final Act Of Love For Ozzy
Less than three weeks before his death, Ozzy performed a final farewell concert in his hometown of Birmingham. He was joined by his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. This was the first time that they had reunited since 2005.
“It’s so good to be on this stage… You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart,” an emotional Ozzy told the crowd at the end of this July 5 concert.
Ozzy was forced to perform at this concert while seated on a bat throne, as he had lost the ability to walk. This was a compromise that was brokered by Sharon after she spent weeks before the sold-out concert fighting with insurers to allow her husband to perform one last time.
Insiders are now saying that this was Sharon’s final act of love for Ozzy. Indeed, had she not battled it out with insurers, the concert probably would have been axed. This would have devastated Ozzy, who was determined to perform for his fans one more time.

Sharon Fought For Ozzy One Last Time
“It’s likely the show would have been cancelled had he not appeared on a throne,” one insider told Daily Mail. “Sharon and her promoters were dealing with the insurance company, who were holding back on covering the costs of the show – if he tried to walk or stand. The pay out for a fall would have been astronomical and pretty much uninsurable.”
“Also Ozzy could not complete the ‘standard medical’ that all pop stars go through before being insured on massive tours,” the source continued. “With the Parkinson’s and the walking issues, no insurance agent would agree to let Oz stand. So, to overcome that – and not have a huge insurance premium on a charity show – [Sharon] secured an unusual deal to have him sit in his throne.”
Ozzy Was ‘Constantly In Training’
Before the concert, Ozzy was “constantly in training seven days a week.” He even had a live-in trainer monitoring his blood pressure “15 times a day.” On top of that, Ozzy wore a finger pulse oximeter to check his blood oxygen levels and pulse.
“I have got this guy who’s virtually living with me and I am in bed by seven,” Ozzy said back in May. “I used to have to take a handful of sleeping pills. Now I don’t take anything.”
“I am having my blood pressure taken 15 times a day,” he added. “I’ve got this device on my finger. It’s a monitor to say how my heart rate is.”
Though Ozzy was disappointed that he couldn’t perform standing up, he was still “grateful to be out there,” according to the source.
“It was a really [expletive] tough thing that Sharon pulled off, because of the liability issues,” the insider explained. “Basically, they didn’t want Ozzy moving around for fear he could fall and suffer injuries and the payouts would be huge.”
Ozzy Passes Away
Ozzy passed away on Tuesday morning at his home surrounded his family. They announced his passing to the world hours later.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the family said in a statement. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
Aimee, Kelly, and Jack are the three children that Ozzy shared with Sharon. He was also father to Louis, Jessica, and Elliot from a previous marriage.
Sharon had been devoted to Ozzy for decades, so it comes as no surprise that she was still fighting for him right up until the very end. Please join us in saying a prayer for Sharon as she continues to mourn the love of her life.
