Last week, we reported that the legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne had passed away at age 76 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease.
On Wednesday, Ozzy’s beloved wife Sharon, who he was married to for 43 years, broke down in tears during the rocker’s funeral procession. This comes as friends of Sharon’s are saying that they’re “terrified” for her as she struggles to mourn the love of her life.
Sharon Breaks Down At Ozzy’s Funeral Procession
Ozzy’s family attended his funeral procession in his home city of Birmingham, England on Wednesday, July 30. Thousands of fans lined the streets to say their goodbyes to the Prince of Darkness.
Ozzy’s hearse and family visited Broad Street, where the Black Sabbath bridge and bench have become a public memorial. There, fans have been leaving flowers, photos and notes to honor Ozzy.
Accompanying the procession was a live brass band performance by Bostin’ Brass, musicians local to Birmingham. Ozzy’s coffin was decorated with purple flowers that spelled out his name.
When the procession stopped on the Black Sabbath bridge, Sharon got out of the vehicle with her children Jack and Kelly. The moment became too much for Sharon, who broke down in tears as fans shouted out their support of her.
Sharon was comforted by Jack and Kelly, who was holding her hand. Joining them was Sharon and Ozzy’s oldest daughter Aimee, and the Black Sabbath frontman’s son Louis from a previous marriage. They spent about five minutes viewing the tributes and laying out flowers of their own.

‘Ozzy Would Never Want A Mope-Fest’
A source close to the family told People Magazine that the family will be honoring Ozzy with a private funeral at a later date.
“They’re very grateful for the special family time they had together before Ozzy passed,” the insider said. “They’re planning a small, private funeral that will be a celebration of his life. Ozzy would never want a mope-fest.”
The source went on to say that Sharon and the children are “touched by all the love and support pouring in from around the world.”
Ozzy died on July 22 at his home in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. Sharon was by his side, as were their children.
“[Ozzy] was in so much pain, he had some very bad days,” a source close to Sharon told The Mirror. “He knew for a while that he was on borrowed time really. He was so ill that, in that rock and roll tradition, he could have died on stage.”
“There was no infection that we knew of,” the insider continued. “We all knew that he was going. In the end, he died peacefully at home with all the family with him. It’s a lovely house and Sharon wanted to bring him back from LA.”

Sharon’s Fans ‘Terrified’ For Her
Another friend of Sharon’s opened up about how much she’s been struggling in the wake of Ozzy’s death. According to this source, Sharon’s friends are “terrified” for her, as she is “not well.”
“Sharon is very, very fragile,” this friend told Daily Mail. “She is so thin. She is not well. We are all terrified for her health at this point.”
“This is the heaviest blow,” the friend added. “Ozzy was her life. The whole point of her life was him. They were each other’s best friend. We don’t know what she will do or how she will cope.”
Sharon and Ozzy met in 1970, when she was 18 and he was 22. At the time, he was still married to his first wife Thelma, with whom he shared children Jessica and Louis. Sharon was the daughter of Don Arden, who was Ozzy’s manager.
Ozzy and Sharon married in 1982, and they had been together ever since. Though they had their ups and downs over the years, they remained devoted to one another until the very end.
In 2022, Ozzy and Sharon celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary.
“We first met when I was 18,” Sharon said at the time. “Over 52 years we have been friends, lovers, husband and wife, grandparents and soulmates. Always at each other’s side. I love you Ozzy.”
