Yesterday, we reported that the 84 year-old mother of the TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie has gone missing from her home over the weekend. Now, disturbing new details have come to light, as police are saying that Nancy Guthrie was likely abducted from her own bed in her $1 million home in Tucscon, Arizona.

Chilling New Details Emerge

Nancy was last seen in her home at around 9:30pm on Saturday, January 31. She was reported missing around noon the next day when she didn’t show up for church services.

Pima County Sheriff Nanos has since told People Magazine that he “believes a crime has been committed.”

“At this point, investigators believe she was taken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night. Taken against her will includes possible kidnapping or abduction,” the sheriff said.

“We have an 84-year-old woman who went to bed Saturday night and come Sunday morning, she’s gone,” he continued. “We know, at least we believe, and I believe we know, she did not walk out of that home on her own.”

Police sources have since told Daily Mail that blood has been found inside Nancy’s home. There were other signs of forced entry as well. All of Nancy’s personal belongings had been left behind, including her wallet, cellphone and car. However, Nancy was nowhere to be found.

Sheriff Nearly Bursts Into Tears

On Monday night, Sheriff Nanos nearly burst into tears when he was asked what the chances are that Nancy is still alive.

“Do you believe you are still looking for Nancy Guthrie alive at this point?” a reporter asked Nanos. “That she could be held somewhere? And if so, do you believe that is local in the Tucson area, or that she’s been taken somewhere?”

Sheriff Nanos began to tear up as he stumbled over his words, eventually saying that police are “just not going to give up hope” of finding Nancy.

It’s previously been reported that while Nancy is mentally “sharp as a tack,” she is frail physically. She reportedly requires daily medication to stay alive, and she does not have that medication with her. This has turned the race to find Nancy into a true race against time.

Sheriff Nanos does not believe that Nancy was targeted because of Savannah, who has an estimated net worth of $40 million. However, he also could not rule out that line of inquiry at this time.

Savannah, 54, flew to Arizona immediately after learning that Nancy had been abducted. She is said to be traveling with a security team for her own safety. Savannah has since dropped out of hosting the Milan Winter Olympics, which begins on Wednesday.

Savannah Asks For Prayers

On Monday night, Savannah took to Instagram to beg fans to pray for her mother.

“We believe in prayer. we believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. we believe in goodness. we believe in humanity,” Savannah wrote. “Above all, we believe in Him.”

“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant,” she continued. “Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you.”

Savannah went on to post the Bible verse, “He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” She described this as being “a verse of Isaiah for all time for all of us.”

“Bring her home,” she concluded.

This is clearly an extremely terrifying situation for Savannah and her entire family. Please join us in saying a prayer for them, and for the safe return of Nancy Guthrie.
