Ozzy’s Final Days
Sources close to the family told Daily Mail that Ozzy’s death was “unexpected to be this soon.”
“Ozzy was always meant to come back to Britain to live in Buckinghamshire, it was where Sharon had spent so long preparing their family home for him,” said one friend of the family. “There was much hope that he would be around for a lot longer than this but at one point there were fears they would not get him back from Los Angeles for the concert earlier this month.”
The insider went on to say that Ozzy’s daughters Aimee, 41, and Kelly, 40, had flown in from Los Angeles last week to care for him.
“Kelly has been at the house a lot in the last week or so, so has Aimee. It is terribly sad for all of them, they really hoped he would be able to carry on for a bit longer,” the source continued. “But it’s so lovely that he had his children around him during his last days.”
Ozzy’s Farewell Concert
Meanwhile, Ozzy’s son Jack, 39, had flown in from his home in Idaho to see his father’s final concert on July 5. Ozzy performed his last concert while sitting on a throne onstage at Villa Park in Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He was joined by his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. This was the first time that they had reunited since 2005.
“It’s so good to be on this stage… You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart,” an emotional Ozzy told the crowd at the end of this July 5 concert.

“So sad to hear the news of @ozzyosbourne passing away,” the iconic singer Elton John wrote on Instagram. “He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.”
“Bye, bye Ozzy. Sleep well, my friend. I’ll see you up there – later rather than sooner, ” Sir Rod Stewart wrote in a statement of his own on Instagram.
Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones said that he was “very sad” to hear of Ozzy’s death.
“What a lovely goodbye concert he had at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham,” he added.
Ozzy was a true legend, and there will never be another one like him. It was difficult for fans to see him struggling with Parkinson’s and other health issues in his final years. While it’s devastating that he’s gone, we can all find comfort in knowing that he’s no longer in pain.
Since his final concert was less than three weeks before his death, Ozzy went out rocking out hard, which is exactly what he wanted.
Rest in peace, Ozzy Osbourne.
