Yesterday, we reported that the legendary former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan died on Thursday morning. He was 71 years-old. Now, sad new details about Hulk’s final days are coming to light, and they are nothing short of horrific.

Hulk’s Difficult Final Days

Hulk, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, reportedly died after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida.

A source close to Hulk’s family told Daily Mail that in his final weeks, the iconic wrestler was well aware that he was suffering from a very “weak heart.” Indeed, it appears that Hulk knew that the end was near for him.

“He was suffering from shortness of breath, got tired easily, had lost a lot of weight and was on oxygen,” the source alleged.

Hulk reportedly spent his final weeks confined to his mansion. There, he desperately tried to mend rifts with some of his estranged loved ones. According to the insider, Hulk did this because he knew that it would be his final chance to make amends.

“He had a lot of scores to settle,” the source explained. “Didn’t want to leave anything unsaid.”

Hulk’s Estrangement From His Daughter

One of these estrangements was with his 37 year-old daughter Brooke, who he had not spoken to since two weeks before his wedding to Sky Daily in 2023.

“He was very proud of her, she was his little girl,” another source close to the Hogan family tells Page Six. “We still can’t believe he is gone.”

In their final conversation before Hulk’s 2023 wedding, Brooke reportedly told him that she loved him. After expressing concern for his well-being, Brooke urged her father to slow down his career as he battled various health issues. While Hulk didn’t take her advice, he made a point of offering a vague apology to her at the time.

They ultimately remained estranged because of what Brooke saw as Hulk’s alleged past mistreatment of her. Brooke’s husband Steven Oleksy tried to get them to make peace over the years. Sadly, insiders claim it never worked out because Hulk only wanted to have a relationship with Brooke on his terms.

At the time of this writing, it does not appear that Hulk and Brooke reconciled in his final days. However, sources close to Brooke have spoken out to say that she’s “grateful” that she said “I love you” to her father in their final conversation. These insiders added that Brooke is “at peace” with their relationship knowing she did everything in her power to fix it.

Hulk’s Death

Emergency officials were called to Hulk’s Clearwater mansion at around 10am on Thursday to respond to a call of a cardiac arrest. Hulk was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died at around 11:17am.

“[Hogan] was experiencing a serious medical related issue,” the Clearwater Police Department told The New York Post.

Hulk’s 40 year wrestling career left him with a wide variety of painful injuries. He also battled health issues stemming from decades of steroid use.

“I’ve had like 25 surgeries in the last ten years. 10 of them were back surgeries,” Hulk said while appearing on the IMPAULSIVE podcast in September of 2024. “I’ve had 10 back surgeries, both knees and both hips replaced, shoulders—everything.”

Hulk’s ‘Deathbed’ Rumors

Last month, rumors swirled that Hulk was on his “deathbed.” Though these rumors were quickly shot down, an insider close to Hulk said that the wrestler had “the body of a 140-year-old man.”

“Hulk has a body ravaged by wrestling, his body is the body of a 140-year-old man with all the bumps and bruises through the years, and his recent neck and back surgeries have been harder to come back from,” this source told Daily Mail in June. “But the rumors of heart issues is not a thing, and talk of him dying is farfetched. He is just having some struggle and trouble to get back to being 100 percent faster.”

“He is getting older, he still is in good shape, works out. But he’s a beaten man, just trying to get as right as possible,” the source continued. “Obviously, he will never wrestle again, but it isn’t because he is dying, it is because his bones are deteriorated.”

Hulk was worth an estimated $25 million at the time of his death. He is survived by his third wife Sky, and by his children Brooke, 37, and Nick, 34, who he shared with his ex-wife Linda Claridge.

While it’s devastating that Hulk is gone, we can all find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering.

Rest in peace, Hulk Hogan.
