Earlier today, we reported that ABC has suspended Jimmy Kimmel’s late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! indefinitely over vile comments that he made about the assassination of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Now, Kimmel’s fellow vehemently anti-Trump star Rosie O’Donnell is speaking out to have a full meltdown over his suspension.
O’Donnell’s Pro-Kimmel Tantrum
O’Donnell, 63, took to Instagram on Thursday morning to throw a full tantrum over Kimmel’s cancelation. This comes months after O’Donnell fled the country and moved to Ireland, just to get away from Donald Trump.
“This is unacceptable,” O’Donnell wrote. “[Expletive] this fascist administration and corrupt corporate executives – bowing to the orange monster – America is no more.”
Unfortunately for O’Donnell, however, this move is already blowing up in her face. Indeed, many are sounding off in her comments section to call her out for her hypocrisy, as she hasn’t stood up for conservative stars who have been canceled for their own words.
“What about Roseanne Barr?” one social media user commented. “She got fired over a joke. A joke! The woman CREATED her show and they all turned their back on her. No one gave a chance. Not even to apologize! How is that different??”
Another social media user answered this question by writing, “Because Rosanne is a Republican… @rosie don’t give one [expletive]! One sided hypocrisy. Kimmel always was a complete jerk…”
The Firing Of Roseanne Barr
This was a reference to the infamous firing of the legendary comedienne Roseanne Barr. Back in 2018, ABC canceled the hugely successful reboot of her eponymous sitcom Roseanne. This came after Barr posted a tweet about Barack Obama’s former advisor Valerie Jarrett that many felt was racist in nature.
ABC then brought back Roseanne as the new show The Conners with all the cast members from the reboot except for Barr. That show ran until the spring of 2025.
Barr has responded to Kimmel’s firing on social media.
“Yeah imagine an administration putting pressure on a television channel to fire a comedian they didn’t like,” she wrote.
Kimmel ‘Livid’ Over His Suspension
As for Kimmel himself, insiders told Daily Mail that the 57 year-old host was “absolutely [expletive] livid” when he heard of his suspension on Wednesday. This came mere hours before he was set to go on air for his nightly program.
“I’ve never seen Jimmy this angry,” one of Kimmel’s producers said. This source added that Kimmel’s crew were left “wandering around like aimless cows.”
It all started on Monday, when Kimmel falsely suggested that Kirk’s assassin was “MAGA.” In reality, the shooter was a radicalized young man who held far-left ideologies, according to investigators.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said on Monday night.
The outrage was swift, and ABC responded on Wednesday by suspending Kimmel’s show indefinitely.
On Friday night, a tribute show for Kirk will air on ABC in Kimmel’s time slot. It’s since been reported that Kimmel won’t be allowed back on air until he makes a “direct apology to the Kirk family.”
If Kimmel wants his show back, he also must make a “meaningful personal donation to the Kirk Family and Turning Point USA.” This is the organization that Kirk founded in 2012 when he was only 18.
O’Donnell and Kimmel can kick and scream all that they want to, but it’s not going to get him his precious show back. Conservatives in entertainment have been silenced for simply expressing their political views for years. Now, the liberal elites of Hollywood are finally getting a taste of their own medicine.
Good riddance, Rosie and Jimmy!
