The world is still in shock over the assassination of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk. He was tragically shot dead on Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University. Kirk was only 31 years-old. At the time of this writing, his killer is still on the loose, with a manhunt currently underway.

Now, Rosie O’Donnell has broken her silence about Kirk’s senseless murder. This comes months after O’Donnell herself fled America and moved to Ireland.

O’Donnell Responds After Kirk’s Death

O’Donnell, 63, is so radically liberal that she chose to leave the country after Donald Trump won his second presidential election last November. Despite this, O’Donnell was still horrified by Kirk’s brutal murder.

Immediately after Kirk’s death was announced, O’Donnell posted a photo of Kirk on her Instagram page.

“No just no – do not become the murderer,” O’Donnell wrote in the caption. “This is wrong on every level.”

O’Donnell added the hashtag “#werallamericans” at the end of her post.

Kirk’s Ties To Trump

This came as a surprise to many, given the fact that Kirk was a close ally of President Trump’s. In contrast, O’Donnell has long been known as one of the most obsessively anti-Trump celebrities in Hollywood. Given how vehemently anti-Trump Hollywood is, that’s saying a lot!

Kirk was only 18 years-old when he founded Turning Point USA back in 2012. This is a conservative organization that is popular on college campuses around the country. Kirk was known for playing a huge role in mobilizing young voters to vote for Donald Trump in last year’s presidential election.

“One of the reasons why we got Trump is Charlie Kirk,” the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly said after Kirk’s death. “We all play our part in some small way, but there is no denying the effect Charlie Kirk had on this election.”

Trump took to Truth Social to honor Kirk immediately after his death was announced.

“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” Trump wrote. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

O’Donnell Flees America

Meanwhile, O’Donnell is so vehemently anti-Trump that she chose to leave the country rather than stick it out for another term of his presidency. Back in June, O’Donnell admitted to the former CNN host Chris Cuomo that she fled America because of Donald Trump’s presidential victory. She even described this move as being one of “self-preservation,” since she greatly struggled during Trump’s first presidency.

“During his first go-round, it was very difficult, and I got myself into some bad places,” said O’Donnell. “You know, I was very, very depressed. I was overeating, I was overdrinking. I was so depressed, Chris.”

The fact that even O’Donnell is condemning Kirk’s murder shows how truly horrific his death really was. In the wake of Kirk’s assassination, the silence from many of O’Donnell’s fellow liberal celebrities has been deafening. While we don’t agree with O’Donnell on much, we applaud her for taking the high road on this one.

Kirk leaves behind a wife and two young children. Please join us in saying a prayer for them.

Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.
