Last month, we reported that Rosie O’Donnell is fighting for the release of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the infamous brothers serving life sentences for the 1989 murders of their parents. Rosie has gone so far as to say that she feels like their “big sister.”

Now, Rosie’s troubled daughter Chelsea, 27, is speaking out to slam her mother for leaving her to languish behind bars while she fights for the Mendendez brothers to be released. Chelsea is accusing Rosie of being a hypocrite and of “turning her back on her” after the young woman was arrested in Wisconsin on drug charges last month.

Chelsea Sounds Off

“My mother is more interested in getting the Menendez brothers released from prison than getting me out,” Chelsea told Daily Mail from jail.

“I have a drug problem,” Chelsea admitted. “I need to go to rehab, but I never killed anyone like the Menendez brothers. My mother has turned her back on me.”

Chelsea was arrested on October 11 for possessing methamphetamine, felony bail jumping, and obstruction. This was the second time she was arrested in two months, as she was also arrested on drug charges on September 9. Chelsea is currently facing charges in two separate Wisconsin counties. She is being held at the Oconto County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.

“When I called Rosie to ask her to bail me out, she told me flat out, ‘You belong in there,'” Chelsea alleged. “She said: ‘I really can’t help you get out of there; I don’t want you to kill yourself. I don’t want to be responsible for you killing yourself.'”

Chelsea, however, is desperate to get out so she can see her four children, as she knows there’s a good chance that she “may end up in prison.”

“I want to spend time with them if I’m going to prison,” Chelsea added. “I’m trying to get bailed out of here.”

Rosie Addresses Chelsea’s Arrest

Rosie, 62, addressed Chelsea’s arrest last month in a brief Instagram post.

“Sadly this is not new for our family – Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade – we r all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease,” Rosie wrote.

Chelsea is one of Rosie’s five children. She adopted Chelsea with her ex Kelli Carpenter. Throughout the years, Rosie and Chelsea have had a tumultuous relationship.

Chelsea finds it to be particularly insulting that while she’s been languishing in jail, Rosie has been focusing her energy on trying to get the Menendez brothers released. Indeed, Rosie has been frequently sharing the hashtag “#freetheMenendezbrothers.”

This hasn’t sat well with Chelsea, who blasted her mother’s “selective judgment.”

“My mother thinks she’s this great person helping out the world including the Menendez brothers yet she is letting me sit here in jail,” she lamented.

Rosie Is Allegedly A Different Person Behind The Scenes

Chelsea added that the Rosie that the public sees isn’t who she really is behind the scenes. She alleged that Rosie hasn’t seen her grandchildren in years. When Chelsea has asked Rosie to come visit, the comedian has allegedly refused, saying that “‘it’s depressing to come out to Wisconsin.”

“She’s an awful grandmother, she wants nothing to do with my kids,” Chelsea claimed. “She has all of the money in the world, but rarely helps out with buying diapers, and other necessities.”

Chelsea is next set to appear in court on Thursday. Each felony she is charged with could result in her spending three and a half years in prison if convicted.
