The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp, the daughter of John Mellencamp, has made the sad announcement that she has multiple brain tumors.
Teddi’s Brain Tumors
Teddi, 43, revealed this tragic news on Instagram, telling her fans that she’s been hospitalized and is about to undergo surgery.
“For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches,” Teddi wrote. “Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization. After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months.”
“Two of the tumors will be surgically removed today. The remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date,” she continued. “I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.”
Teddi concluded by thanking the “children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.”
“Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey,” she stated.

Teddi Shaves Her Head – Gets Advice From Her Father
Teddi also took to her Instagram Story to share a video of her head being shaved in preparation for surgery.
“I didn’t have this look on my bucket list,” she told her friend shaving her head.
In another Instagram Story, Teddi addressed her legendary rocker father John, 73.
“As my dad said this am, God only gives hard stuff to those of us who can handle it,” she said. “It’s a hard day but I have faith and amazing surgeons and know everything will be ok.. ”

Teddi’s Skin Cancer Journey
Prior to this diagnosis, Teddi spent years removing 17 different spots of melanoma. Earlier this month, Teddi marked World Cancer Day by sharing a graphic photo of her surgery scar on Instagram.
“It’s #WorldCancerDay so I’d like to remind you to get your skin checks scheduled,” she wrote in the caption.
Teddi also included a clip from a recent appearance that she made on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast. In it, Teddi revealed that she’d had a “ginormous patch” on the back of her shoulder since she was born. As she got older, she began getting more marks on her back.
“They almost looked like sun spots … I didn’t take it seriously, plus I didn’t know that skin cancer was a big deal,” she admitted.
Unfortunately for Teddi, however, it turned out to be a very big deal indeed.
“Pretty much throughout the next three years, I think I’ve had over 20 surgeries,” Teddi lamented.
Teddi has been extremely open about her cancer journey on social media. She’s hoping that sharing her story will encourage others to stay vigilant about their health and get routine screenings.
“Who’s making their appointment today?” she wrote at the end of her World Cancer Day post.
Teddi is one of John’s five children. This has clearly been a very difficult time for Teddi and her entire family. Please join us in saying a prayer for Teddi as she gets her brain tumors removed!
