Last month, we reported that fears were growing for the health of the cooking sensation and talk show host Rachael Ray, 56, after she posted a video to social media in which she appeared to be “slurring” her words and suffering from facial drooping.
Earlier this week, Ray released the first episode of her podcast “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead.” In it, Ray revealed that she and her husband John Cusimano, who she’s been married to since 2005, constantly have “huge screaming matches” with one another.
‘Huge Screaming Matches All The Time’
“It’s very hard, especially for hot-tempered or creative or vociferous loud people to be able to just calm it down,” she told her first guest, the former Angel actress Jenny Mollen. “John and I don’t calm it down ever. We have huge screaming matches all the time, but I think that’s healthy. I really do. And I don’t trust people that are too quiet.”
“Too quiet freaks me out,” Ray continued. “I prefer that you tell me what you think when you think it and let’s just get it all out there.”
Mollen, who has been married to the former American Pie star Jason Biggs for sixteen years, proceeded to ask Ray who is typically the first to apologize.
“I don’t know that we ever apologize to each other,” Ray responded. “Eventually I pat him on his ass or he kisses me on the head, and that’s just sort of it. That’s the apology. It’s just sort of understood. ‘I still like your ass.’ ‘I still like your head.’ It’s kind of in that zone.”
Ray Recalls Meeting Cusimano
Ray then recalled meeting Cusimano, who is a musician and lawyer.
“When we met, he had no idea what I did, and I thought he was gay,” she said. “He told me what he had made for dinner the night before, and it was so impressive, and he told me he was a lawyer. There’s no way a straight guy knows what tilapia is, or he was trying to spice it up with some homemade tomatillo salsa and he made maque choux spilling out of an avocado on the side.”
Ray even had a friend that she wanted to set Cusimano up with.
“I said, ‘He’s a great guy’ and I started to describe him, and he said ‘I’m not gay,’” she recalled. “And I’m like ‘Check, please!’”
Two years ago, Ray told People Magazine that she and Cusimano “balance each other” and “always have.”
“We have volatile personalities but we’re both very practical, too,” she said. “That’s the lawyer side of him and the domestic side of me. We’re like, ‘These are the things that must be accomplished today. And we will get to this only by doing what work is necessary.'”

Fears For Ray’s Health
This comes after fears for Ray’s health began last month when she took to Instagram to post a video honoring the late singer Tony Bennett. Fans responded by saying that Ray was “slurring” her speech in the video. Some questioned if she was drunk, while others thought she might be on a “medication” or suffering from a health “condition.”
“Is she slurring or am I slurring,” one fan commented. Another added, “I love you but are you ok? I’m seriously concerned.”
“Rachel is in a bit of trouble?! I hope someone is just as concerned as I am?” a third fan wrote. A fourth person questioned, “What the heck is wrong with her? Messy hair, slurring words….wow just wow …”

Ray has yet to respond to the allegations about her health. We can only hope and pray that there is nothing seriously wrong with her. Ray’s latest revelation about her marriage certainly doesn’t indicate that she’s in the best place in life right now.
