Fears are growing for the health of cooking sensation Rachael Ray after the 56-year-old cook and television personality posted a new video to social media in which she appeared to be slurring her words.

Ray Posts New Video

Ray took to Instagram on Monday to post a preview of her new show Rachael In Tuscany. In the video, she paid tribute to the late singer Tony Bennett, who died last year, while also showing herself cooking Ossobuco.

Ray became visibly emotional as she recalled having Bennett over to her house before his death. While there, Bennett hit his head on Ray’s marble counter, leading her to fear that she had “killed” him.

“I had polished the floors in the kitchen because, well, Tony Bennett’s coming to dinner,” Ray recalled. “I have to make sure the floors are perfect and the house is clean and everything is just amazing.”

This backfired when Bennett’s chair “slid out from under” him and he “hit his head” on her marble counter. Thankfully, Bennett was alright and still had “double portions” of the meal that Ray cooked for him.

Fans Voice Concerns For Ray

Unfortunately for Ray, however, fans were far more focused on her apparent “slurring” of her words than they were on her actual story. In no time, the comments section of her video was flooded with comments from concerned fans expressing fears for her wellbeing.

“Is she slurring or am I slurring,” one fan wrote, with another adding, “I love you but are you ok? I’m seriously concerned.”

“Rachel is in a bit of trouble?! I hope someone is just as concerned as I am?” a third fan commented. A fourth person stated, “What the heck is wrong with her? Messy hair, slurring words….wow just wow …”

Some fans tried to express their support while simultaneously indicating that they were concerned.

“She’s aging like the rest of us,” one person wrote. “Maybe she has a medical condition, maybe she is on medication. Regardless, no need to be mean.”

“Such negative comments on here. Leave Rachel alone,” a second loyal fan stated. “People are going through different things in life that we don’t know. Let’s just be kind.”

One fan even indicated that Ray’s speech issues could be due to menopause.

“People leave her alone, menopause hits us all different,” this person wrote. “Instead of putting her down enjoy the scrumptious food and fun stories.”

Ray’s Daytime Talk Show

This comes one year after Ray announced that her beloved daytime talk show would be ending after 17 seasons.

“In my more than 20 plus years in television I have had 17 wonderful seasons working in daytime television with Rachael,” Ray said at the time. “However I’ve made the decision that it’s time for me to move on to the next exciting chapter in my broadcast career.”

The Rachael Ray Show premiered back in 2006. It garnered 37 Daytime Emmy nominations during its run, winning three for Outstanding Talk Show.

Ray is hoping to replicate the success of her daytime talk show with Rachael In Tuscany, which airs on Mondays on FYI.

Ray has long been known as one of the most positive and upbeat people in the world of television. This has garnered her many fans over the years. We can only hope that Ray isn’t going through some kind of health issue right now. Please join us in saying a prayer for her!
