Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday. Unfortunately for her, however, protesters attempted to ruin her ceremony.
This comes amidst backlash over Gadot’s new Disney movie Snow White and her Israeli citizenship.
Protesters Descend On Gadot
Gadot’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony was disrupted by both pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel protesters. Gadot, 39, was born and raised in Israel, and she served in the Israel Defense Forces in her youth, as is required for most Israelis.
Before Gadot even made it to the podium, protesters tried to shout her down with political slogans.
The situation eventually escalated to the point where police were called to the scene. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told The New York Post that officers “were assigned to the location, provided crowd control, and kept the peace.” Despite the disruption, “there were no arrests.”

Backlash Over ‘Woke’ Snow White
Meanwhile, this comes at a difficult time in Gadot’s Hollywood career. Her new movie Snow White, in which she plays the Evil Queen, is set to come out on Friday. It is widely believed that the film will flop amidst accusations that it will be too politically correct. Rachel Zegler, who plays Snow White, has come under fire for blasting the iconic fairy tale’s original “sexist” storyline.
“The original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so,” Zegler previously told Extra. “There’s a big focus on her love story with the guy who literally stalks her. Weird, weird.”
Zegler later told Variety that her version of Snow White is “not going to be saved by the prince” in the remake.
“And she’s not going to be dreaming about true love; she’s going to be dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be,” Zegler added.

Disney In Panic Mode
A Disney insider told Daily Mail that Zegler is “out of control.” This source added that Disney executives “don’t know what to do” with her.
“She’s an outspoken 20-something and Disney chiefs have called her directly and asked her to tone down her posts,” the insider lamented. “They’ve called her management, but she won’t listen.”
The backlash over Zegler’s comments has gotten so great that Disney opted to have a scaled back global premiere of the movie. Gadot didn’t even attend the event, which was held at a castle in Spain. There, Disney only held “tightly controlled” press events for the movie after the PR nightmare that has ensued. Indeed, it’s been alleged that heading into Friday, Disney has “zero faith” in this new version of Snow White.

Given how rough the end of this week is likely to be for Gadot, protesters ruining her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony was the last thing she needed. Hopefully she can put that embarrassing incident behind her as she hopes for a miracle after Snow White premieres on Friday!
