It’s been nearly six years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals. They then fled England to move across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised.

While yesterday was Veterans Day in the United States, it was also Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom. This solemn holiday is meant to remember members of the British armed forces who lost their lives in service.

To mark this occasion, Harry penned a surprise essay that he titled “The Bond, the Banter, the Bravery: What It Means to Be British.” Now, royal experts are speaking out to claim that this essay indicates that Harry has “deep regrets” about leaving his native England for America.

Harry’s ‘Deep Regret’

“Though currently, I may live in the United States, Britain is, and always will be, the country I proudly served and fought for,” Harry, 41, wrote in an excerpt shared by People Magazine. “The banter of the mess, the clubhouse, the pub, the stands, ridiculous as it sounds, these are the things that make us British. I make no apology for it. I love it.”

Royal experts believe that this confirms that Harry is extremely homesick.

“Harry’s essay on Remembrance Day showed him at his best and also highlighted his status as an exile,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News.

“Exiles feel deep regret,” he continued. “He knows the military was the making of him after the trauma he suffered following the death of his mother, which still haunts him. He has given back with the Invictus Games, a remarkable achievement. His words clearly came from the heart and were all the more moving for that. His respect and affection for Queen Elizabeth II, whom he called ‘my Commander-in-Chief.'”

Harry ‘Is A Shadow’ Of His Former Self

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard was quick to agree with this assessment.

“Prince Harry is a shadow of his previous gregarious self,” Chard said. “Prince Harry was always caught laughing and full of energy. This was certainly the case on his arrival in the U.S. five years ago. I’m sure he misses parts of his previous life in the U.K. … I don’t believe the celebrity world floats Prince Harry’s boat.”

“He widened his already deep rift in the royal family with his memoir,” Fitzwilliams chimed back in to add. “All this, to build a profile which has given [the couple] global reach — which it has, but in a deeply destructive way. So he is bound to have very deep regrets. The state of his father’s health is bound to add to them.”

This was a reference to Harry’s 2023 memoir “Spare.” He uses this book to shamelessly bash the royal family, specifically targeting his older brother Prince William, who is the heir to the throne behind their father King Charles.

Though Harry has attacked his family many times over the past six years, he’s changed his tune as of late. Back in May, Harry said that he would “love reconciliation with my family.”

“There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he stated at the time. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”

This was seemingly a reference to the fact that the King, 76, has been battling an unspecified form of cancer for over a year.

Harry Is ‘Desperately Lonely’

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich alleged that many of Harry’s close friends think that he is “desperately lonely in California” as he continues to miss his old life.

“For many American Brits, particularly from England, there are two sayings that sum us up,” she said. “The first is from John Mahoney, ‘You can take the boy out of England, but you can’t take England out of the boy,’ referring to his huge emotional attachment to England. The other is from Shakespeare, ‘This precious stone set in the silver sea … this blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.’”

“There is so much about America to love, and he has embraced so much so quickly,” Fordwich concluded. “There is nothing he has ever said or done that can be seen as bad-mouthing England — his family, yes; the ‘Firm,’ yes; but not his beloved England. He certainly has wavered regarding becoming an American and shares nostalgia with friends, adding he misses England with his closest friends.”

As for Meghan, she reportedly has no interest in ever returning to England. That’s why it appears that if Harry ever wants to return to his native United Kingdom permanently, he would need to divorce Meghan. Only time will tell if that ever happens!
