Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, has found herself in hot water this week. Indeed, she’s being accused again of disaster tourism for a story she told about a 15 year-old Los Angeles wildfire victim.

Meghan and Harry have been assisting victims in various ways since it’s become safe to do so.

Meghan’s Wildfire Story

It all started on Wednesday, when Meghan posted a video to Instagram. In the video, she received some packages at her home in Montecito, California.

“I was just told that something arrived that I had been waiting for,” began Meghan, 43. “About two or three weeks ago, when my husband and I were in Altadena, we went to a community where all the homes were left in ashes.”

Meghan went on to claim that she and Harry, 40, met a woman and her teenage daughter in Altadena. The two of them had allegedly lost their home.

“I saw this young woman, and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, how old are you?’ She’s 15, she lives there,” Meghan continued. “And her mom shared something with me and said that when they came back to see their house for the first time, which is as we were meeting them, that all that she’d been looking for in her home was the t-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just gone to that she left in the washing machine or the dryer. Of course, they now see that their home, the washing machine and the dryer are ash. They’re not there anymore.”

“So I said, ‘Well I don’t know Billie Eilish, but I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt,'” Meghan added. “So I thought of everybody that I knew and I made a voice note and I was like, ‘please can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish? Here’s what I’m asking.’”

Meghan’s Billie Eilish Merch

Meghan then panned the camera to show the Billie Eilish merch that had arrived.

“You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means, but it’s signed for her!” she gushed. “This is when I feel really old.”

Meghan ended the clip by thanking the people who she claims made this happen.

“Huge thank you, Billie Eilish,” Meghan concluded. “This is going to mean so much to her, and honestly to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped get this over the line. To everyone who’s showing up for people in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California: Just, thank you so much. I’m going to go and email her mom now. Just wanted to share that with you guys.”

Social Media Users Accuse Meghan Of Lying

Unfortunately for Meghan, however, social media users think that they’ve found proof that she made the entire story up. One user alleged that residents weren’t allowed to return to the area when Meghan and Harry visited.

“She’s lying! And here’s the dupers delight to show it!” this user wrote. “Residents weren’t allowed at that time, so she created this fictional account of seeing someone go through the rubble. She’s a fraud!”

Another social media user questioned Meghan’s motives of sharing the video.

“I don’t think this is going to land how #MeghanMarkle wants it to,” this user commented. “She didn’t know how to replace a Billie Eilish concert t shirt? Um..Amazon?”

“Obviously she wanted to name drop & humble brag, and she couldn’t just DO this, she had to announce how altruistic, connected, and nice she is,” the user added. “It’s all me me me look what I did I I I. She will never learn. Not a drop of humility.”

It should be noted that Meghan has turned off the comments on her original Instagram video. This indicates that even she is likely aware that it’s backfiring big time.

In the end, it seems that this might be yet another fail on Meghan’s part!
