Earlier this week, we reported that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were being ripped as “disaster tourists” by the former Family Ties star Justine Bateman. She called them this after they were spotted handing out food packages to survivors of the devastating wildfires raging in Los Angeles, California.

Meghan Keeps Helping Out

Despite this, Meghan has defiantly refused to stop helping out with wildfire victims. Indeed, the LA native has been working with the Altadena Girls Fire Recovery Fund. This organization was launched by 14-year-old Avery Colvert to support teenage girls in her community to “regain their sense of self and confidence”‘ after the wildfires.

Altadena Girls posted a video to Instagram in which Meghan, 43, was seen with a girl in a parking lot. The former Suits star was carrying multiple bags that were likely full of donations.

“And thank you to everyone who showed up on Monday, which was such a special day! We love you!” the video was captioned.

Hours later, Altadena Girls thanked Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Foundation in a separate post.

“We can now accept donations directly to our organization and make sure that all of these funds get RIGHT to the community where it’s needed!” Altadena Girls wrote.

Meghan And Harry Ripped As ‘Disaster Tourists’

This came after Bateman blasted Meghan and Harry. She did so after they were seen passing out food packages to wildfire survivors on Friday.

“Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers,” Bateman, 58, wrote on social media. “What a repulsive ‘photo op’ they achieved. They are ‘touring the damage’? Are they politicians now?”

“They don’t live here; they are tourists. Disaster Tourists,” she added.

Meghan Found This ‘Offensive’

Meghan, who was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, didn’t appear to take this very well.

“It’s offensive to Meghan and Harry that anybody would think this is merely a photo opportunity,” an insider told Page Six.

“Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles so this is, and always will be, home to her,” the source continued, adding that Meghan is “not just a tourist” and “her heart is completely broken for all the lives that have been lost and for those whose homes have been destroyed in these fires.”

According to this insider, Meghan and Harry “invested significant time and resources, they have donated money and essential items.”

“They have also dedicated countless hours to volunteering, long before the media even caught wind of their involvement,” the source concluded.

Meghan Kelly Weighs In

Unfortunately for Meghan and Harry, however, Bateman wasn’t the only person to take issue with their L.A. wildfire response.

“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose to inject themselves into the devastation in Los Angeles over the weekend for one reason: To get their faces back on camera and to improve their image,” claimed the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly. “These absolute cretins want people to think well of them, so they decided what the people really needed was to see them.”

“The reports are that they wanted to be discreet and keep a low profile when they visited victims and first responders at the Pasadena Convention Center on Friday, and yet they made sure they got on camera,” she continued. “They made sure that their names got in the press.”

Kelly even went so far as to send a message to Harry, 40.

“You are not our prince. We hate your wife,” she stated emphatically. “Stay at home in your $29 million Montecito mansion, and stop getting off on the trauma porn of real suffering in Los Angeles. It is ridiculous, and it is offensive.”

Watch Kelly talk more about this in the video below.

Clearly, Meghan was undeterred by this and is determined to keep helping out. While some of the criticism is probably correct, it’s doubtful the victims of the fire care where help is coming from, so long as it is coming.
