There are some turning points in history that really make you wonder, “what if…?”
Case in point: what if Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne had the opportunity to star in one of the most beloved movie franchises of all time, but his wife Sharon put a stop to it?
Well, that’s exactly what happened! In a new interview, Sharon Osbourne spilled the beans that this is very scenario came true in real life, and she described it as being the “biggest mistake” she made as Ozzy’s manager.
Sharon’s ‘Biggest Mistake’
While being interviewed on The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan, Sharon, 72, revealed that she stopped Ozzy, 76, from auditioning for Pirates of the Caribbean.
“Do you want to know the biggest mistake I ever made with Ozzy?” Sharon asked host Billy Corgan, 57. “He got offered to go and read for Pirates of the Caribbean, and I’ve never said this to anyone, and I said no.”
“Now wouldn’t he have been perfect?” Sharon continued. “He would have been perfect! Maybe it’s not too late, but God bless.”
To answer Sharon’s question: Yes, Ozzy would have been perfect.
“Because when Johnny [Depp] wanted Keith [Richards] to be a pirate, you remember?” Sharon added. This was a reference to the legendary Rolling Stone musician Richards portraying Depp’s onscreen father Captain Teague in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Keith Richards is no slouch in the fame department, but can you imagine Ozzy energy in that role?
Unfortunately for Ozzy, he missed his chance to appear in Pirates of the Caribbean. Instead, he’s appeared in movies like Austin Powers in Goldmember and Little Nicky and in television shows like Crime Scene: Investigation.

Ozzy Can No Longer Walk
This comes after Sharon gave fans a sad update about Ozzy’s health earlier this month. She tragically revealed that Ozzy can no longer walk amidst his battle with Parkinson’s disease.
“He’s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this,” she told The Sun.
“Parkinson’s is a progressive disease. It’s not something you can stabilize. It affects different parts of the body and it’s affected his legs,” she continued. “But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”
Ozzy himself admitted that he “can’t walk” earlier this month.
“I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive,” he said. “I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

Ozzy’s Final Concert
Despite this, Ozzy will be returning to the stage with Black Sabbath one more time on July 5. This will be his final concert, and it will take place at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.
“I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them,” Ozzy recently said. “I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”
The farewell concert will be called “Back To The Beginning.”
“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Ozzy said in a statement released earlier in February. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”
We’re so glad that Ozzy has found the strength to perform one more time. Whether he starred in Pirates of the Caribbean or not, Ozzy is still one of the most legendary rockers of all time. In the end, nothing will change that!
