Last month, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Now, insiders are claiming that Kidman isn’t “feeling sorry for herself” amidst this divorce. Instead, Kidman is “looking forward” to a “new chapter.”
Kidman ‘Staying Extremely Positive’
A source close to Kidman claimed that the actress is “staying extremely positive and looking forward to this as a whole new chapter in her life.”
“She was very sad for a while after Keith, that’s no secret,” the insider continued. “But over time she’s come to terms with the divorce, and she’s making a big point not to sit around moping or feeling sorry for herself.”
In fact, Kidman might even start dating again soon.
“Nicole is open to that eventually, but there’s no hurry, and she won’t put pressure on herself,” the source concluded. “Her attitude is when it happens, it happens. She hasn’t given up on love by any means.”
Urban Struggling
Meanwhile, Urban is reportedly struggling in the wake of this split. Indeed, those close to Urban are “in an emotional free fall.” Some even fear that he’s in a midlife crisis.
Last month, Urban playfully collapsed onstage during a concert when a fan told him that her name was Nicole.
An insider told Yahoo News that Urban’s mock agony over this was “obviously Keith’s way of making light of his current situation. But the painful and undeniable truth is he’s extremely fragile, and a lot of folks are worried about him.”
Another source close to Urban alleged that the country music star’s friends are fearful that he’s in an emotional spiral.
“He’s running on empty,” the insider stated. “He’s acting like a lost soul, and there’s concern he’s in an emotional free fall without Nicole by his side.”
The source went on to say that Urban “has given everything he has to becoming a better musician, and right now it looks like that’s wrecked his personal life.”
“Even in their happiest years, Keith’s desire to be a loner tested Nicole’s patience,” the insider claimed. “Now that they’ve called it quits, Keith is more alone than ever.”
Making matters even worse for Urban is the fact that the couple’s former friends have firmly taken Kidman’s side.
“As sad as it is, he’s going to go it alone for this next chapter in his life,” the source concluded. “And he’s going to do it far away from Los Angeles — just how he likes it.”
Kidman Fought To Save Her Marriage
It’s ironic that Urban is struggling while Kidman is staying positive, since he’s reportedly the one who initiated the split. After they secretly separated in June, Kidman allegedly spent months desperately trying to save her marriage. It was only when it became clear that her efforts had failed that she filed for divorce on September 30.
“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
