Last week, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage,” and that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 57. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Now, Kidman is speaking out in a new interview to reveal that she’s “taking risks” amidst this grueling divorce battle.
Kidman Talks Risks
“Taking a risk is what I’ve always done,” Kidman told Vogue. “You get back up and you try again and you learn.”
Kidman went on to say that after decades in the spotlight, online scrutiny doesn’t bother her.
“Literally walk away from it because it will fell you,” she advised. “It will destroy you.”
Kidman never addressed her divorce directly in this interview. Instead, she was “wry, rueful, unsure of herself” when she was asked how she feels now in her 50s.
“How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?” she questioned.
Kidman then talked about the importance of “ride-or-die friendships.”
“So much to say and so little time to say it,” she later added. “About death and life and joy and grief and loss and sex and why we’re here and what is truth and is truth even necessary.”
Kidman Files For Divorce
This comes one week after Kidman filed for divorce from Urban. They had been married since 2006, and they share two teenage daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 30. Court documents obtained by Fox News show that she cited “irreconcilable differences” and ongoing “marital difficulties.”
Urban and Kidman had reportedly secretly been separated in June. The country music star spent the summer renting his own residence in Nashville , the city they’ve long called home. Those close to Kidman have claimed that she was “blindsided” when Urban asked to separate.
“She didn’t want this,” an insider close to Kidman told People Magazine. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
“Nicole’s hurt and feels betrayed,” another Kidman source added. “She wanted to save their marriage and believed that she could, but it seems he’s already moved on.”
Urban Allegedly Moves On With ‘Younger Woman’
While nothing has been confirmed, it’s been rumored that Urban has started dating a “younger woman” in the music industry.
“The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a well-placed Nashville music insider told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
There is no confirmation as to who this alleged “younger woman” is. However, video has since gone viral showing Urban seemingly flirting onstage with his new 25 year-old guitar player Maggie Baugh.

A source close to the family has claimed that in the wake of filing for divorce, Kidman is firmly focused on the future.
“She’s been stressed because she knew the separation would eventually become public and she was dreading it,” the insider told People Magazine.
“But she’s surprisingly level-headed and calm,” the source added. “Now that it’s out she’s just focused on what’s ahead and her girls.”
This is clearly a very difficult time for Kidman, Urban, and their daughters. Please join us in saying a prayer for them as they navigate this new chapter of their lives!
