We previously reported that the Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.

Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”

Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 30, citing “irreconcilable differences” at the time. Last week, she celebrated her first Christmas since their split.

Kidman’s First Christmas Post-Urban Split

Kidman reportedly spent Christmas in Australia with her and Urban’s two daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

“Nicole and the girls are in Australia for Christmas. This is all she wanted after a tumultuous fall,” a source close to Kidman told People Magazine. “She just wanted to celebrate Christmas at home. She’s very excited.”

The insider went on to say that Kidman is “doing well,” despite her breakup with Urban.

“She’s been super positive and focused on things that she’s grateful for. And there are so many! She feels very blessed,” the source added.

This comes one month after another insider revealed that Kidman and Urban’s two daughters are splitting their time between their parents amicably.

“Their daughters live with Nicole, but spend as much time with Keith as they want,” that source explained. “There is no drama.”

Earlier this month, a third insider revealed that “Nicole and Keith continue to co-parent. The focus is on their daughters. They both want to create a stable and supportive environment for them.”

Kidman And Urban’s Divorce

Unbeknownst to fans, Urban and Kidman secretly separated back in June. Urban was the one who initiated the split, and he immediately moved out of the family home and into his own residence in Nashville.

Kidman then spent the summer desperately trying to save their marriage. The actress finally gave in and filed for divorce on September 30.

“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

Another insider told US Weekly. that Kidman “had faith they could work it out” after being “quietly separated for a while.”

“This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” the source lamented. “Her trust was lost, and it was too far gone. Nicole had been trying to get them to work on their marriage and did not want this to get out to the public. She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months.”

This was Urban’s first and only marriage. In contrast, Kidman was previously married to her fellow A-list Hollywood star Tom Cruise. Indeed, they married in 1990 and later divorced in 2001. Their split was particularly brutal, leaving Kidman wary of going through another divorce again. Sadly, that’s the exact position that she’s found herself in now.

Divorce is never easy, particularly after so many years together. Please join us in saying a prayer for Kidman and Urban as they navigate this new chapter of their lives!
