Earlier this week, we reported that the legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne had passed away at age 76 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. Yesterday, we reported on what turned out to be Ozzy’s final days.
Now, harrowing details have come to light about Ozzy’s final moments. According to new reports, there was a frantic two hour battle to save the rocker’s life before his “unexpected” death.
Ozzy’s Harrowing Final Moments
Daily Mail has confirmed that at around 10:30am on Tuesday, a medical helicopter was called to Ozzy’s multi-million dollar mansion in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. The air ambulance reportedly landed in a field close to Ozzy’s country home, which is known as Welders House.
The helicopter had been sent from Thames Valley ambulance base at RAF Benson in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. This is located around 27 miles from Ozzy’s mansion.
The crew were in the air for about 15 minutes before they landed near Welders House. They spent the next two hours desperately trying to safe Ozzy’s life, but sadly, their efforts were ultimately in vain. After two long hours, Ozzy passed away surrounded by his family.
He’s one of four legends in the entertainment world to pass away this week. Ozzy’s death came after the passings of the singer Connie Francis and The Cosby Show star Malcolm-Jamal Warner. It also came two days before the death of the legendary professional wrestler Hulk Hogan.
Locals Weigh In
Locals in the small village of Jordans, which is right by Ozzy’s home, immediately realized that “something serious” was happening when they saw the helicopter hovering above the mansion. They witnessed the helicopter taking off again at around 12:30pm, two hours after the call for it came in.
“I went out to have a look and saw that it was landing close to Ozzy’s house,” said one local resident who declined to be named.
“All of us were talking about it and wondering what had happened. We immediately feared it may be for him as he was known to be in fragile health,” the resident continued. “When we heard later that night that he had died it confirmed our worst fears.”
Another local resident who only went by her first name Jane chimed in to add, “I was out walking when I saw the helicopter landing close to Welders and realized something serious was happening. Ozzy Osbourne was quite a character and we’ll miss him.”
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Air Ambulance issued a brief statement about the situation.
“We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident near Chalfont St Giles yesterday,” the spokesperson said.
Welders House is a 125-year-old country estate located on 350 acres. Ozzy and his wife Sharon bought the mansion in 1997 for an undisclosed sum. The home recently underwent a massive remodeling that included a dedicated rehab wing. This was meant to allow Ozzy to spend more time there as his health continued to deteriorate amidst his Parkinson’s battle.
Ozzy’s Family Announces His Death
Ozzy’s family announced his death hours after his passing.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” they said.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love,” the family continued. “We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

A source close to the Osbourne family said that Ozzy’s death was “unexpected.” While they knew he was dying, they didn’t think it would happen so quickly.
“Ozzy was always meant to come back to Britain to live in Buckinghamshire, it was where Sharon had spent so long preparing their family home for him,” said one friend of the family. “There was much hope that he would be around for a lot longer than this but at one point there were fears they would not get him back from Los Angeles for the concert earlier this month.”
The insider went on to say that Ozzy’s daughters Aimee, 41, and Kelly, 40, had flown in from Los Angeles last week to care for him.
“Kelly has been at the house a lot in the last week or so, so has Aimee. It is terribly sad for all of them, they really hoped he would be able to carry on for a bit longer,” the source continued. “But it’s so lovely that he had his children around him during his last days.”

Ozzy’s Final Concert
Ozzy died less than three weeks after his final concert, which took place on July 5. He performed his farewell concert while sitting on a throne onstage at Villa Park in Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He was joined by his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. This was the first time that they had reunited since 2005.
“It’s so good to be on this stage… You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart,” an emotional Ozzy told the crowd at the end of this July 5 concert.
While it’s devastating that Ozzy is gone, we’re glad that he got to rock out one more time before his passing. We applaud all the first responders who went above and beyond to try and save Ozzy’s life. In the end, it seems that it was just his time to go.
