Over the past few months, rumors have been swirling that Barack and Michelle Obama are heading for divorce. These claims allege that Barack and Michelle have been living “separate lives” for quite some time.
Now, Michelle is adding fuel to these rumors by revealing a “liberating” and “freeing” shift in her life.
Michelle’s New ‘Liberating’ Era Of Her Life
While appearing on the Las Culturistas podcast on Wednesday, Michelle opened up about what she describes as the biggest shift in her life.
“For 50-plus years, I was making decisions for other people and that’s kind of a buffer, you know?” said Michelle, 61. “I could always say, ‘Well, I’m doing this because my husband needs it,’ or ‘because my kids need it.’ So the consequences of those decisions, I could sort of subconsciously throw off on them, you know?”
Michelle has been married to Barack, 63, since 1992. They are parents to daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24.
“I am now accountable for the outcomes of all of my choices,” Michelle continued. “They’re all mine now, right? There’s no one to blame if it doesn’t go right or if there’s backlash, if I don’t attend a thing. It’s not, well, I did it because I had to. This was my choice, I stand in it and that’s new at 61 years old, but it is freeing.”
Michelle went on to explain that this “liberating” phase of her life was made possible by the fact that her daughters are now adults.
“And it could only happen now, I know my girls are good,” Michelle said. “They’re full adults, they’re not completely independent, but they move through the world as independent, responsible people. They do not call us for everything. They figure stuff out and then talk to us afterwards to get our advice or reaction to what they already decided.”
“As a parent, that’s comforting,” she concluded. “That’s what we raise them to be: independent people who can think on their own and live in the world and survive with or without us. That gives me comfort. It’s really liberating.”

Obama Divorce Rumors
This comes after months of rampant rumors that the Obamas are heading for divorce. These rumors escalated in a big way back in January, when Michelle skipped both the funeral of Jimmy Carter and the inauguration of Donald Trump. She was the only living former First Lady to miss each of these events. This forced Barack to attend both events alone.
“I have been hearing this rumor that the Obamas are getting a divorce by reputable people,” political commentator Meghan McCain said on reporter Tara Palmeri’s podcast back in January. “I’m not talking about TMZ, I’m not talking about Perez Hilton, although I love him, he’s my friend.”
“I’m talking about like very serious journalists telling me that they’re hearing that the Obama divorce rumors are true,” she continued.
“We’ve heard that for a long time,” replied Tara, who has long covered Washington politics. “Like I just heard that they live separate lives.”

Michelle Accused Of ‘Really Disliking’ Barack
Michelle launched her IMO podcast with her brother Craig Robinson, 64, back in March. Since then, many have noticed that she’s frequently used episodes to complain about both Barack and the time they spent in the White House together.
The former Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently reacted to this by claiming that Michelle “really dislikes her husband, and it’s super obvious.”
“I’m not just saying that to be catty,” Tucker explained. “I think I’m trying to feel compassion for her but her hostility toward the guy is unbelievable.”
Tucker’s fellow Fox News host Megyn Kelly was quick to agree. She pointed out that “everything Michelle says about her husband is negative.”
“I almost never say negative things about Doug,” Megyn added, referring to her husband Doug Brunt. “He’s not perfect but when I think about him, I don’t immediately go to whatever is negative. I go to what’s positive and what I love about him.”

Barack has stayed silent about the divorce rumors. Meanwhile, Michelle has tried to shoot them down multiple times. However, many aren’t buying her denials, given the fact that she has continued to bash Barack on her podcast.
Michelle’s latest comments about being in a new “liberating” and “freeing” period of her life will certainly add credence to the rumors that she’s newly single. Only time will tell if the Obama marriage is actually able to stand the test of time!
