Over the past few months, rumors have been swirling that Barack and Michelle Obama are heading for divorce. These claims allege that Barack and Michelle have been living “separate lives” for quite some time.
On Wednesday’s episode of her IMO podcast, Michelle added fuel to these rumors in a big way by exposing a secret “struggle” that Barack had behind the scenes in the White House.
Barack’s Secret White House ‘Struggle’
Michelle and Barack lived in the White House from 2009 to 2017. They were joined there by their two daughters Malia and Sasha. When they moved in the girls were ages 10 and 7 respectively. This meant that the two of them essentially grew up in the White House.
While interviewing the singer Bruce Springsteen, Michelle admitted that parenting the girls in the White House was a “struggle” for Barack. She said this after Bruce credited his wife Patti Scialfa with helping him to be a more present parent to their three children. Bruce recalled Patti telling him that he was “screwing it up” and would “miss” key years of his children’s developing years if he didn’t change up his routine.
This was all Michelle needed to let loose about Barack. Indeed, Michelle made it clear that she thinks she was a far better parent than Barack.
“You lose those years, they go by so fast,” said Michelle, 61. “Barack didn’t struggle in the way that you did, but you know, with a busy schedule, I used to—whenever I thought he wasn’t doing enough, I’d start singing: ‘Cats in the cradle and the silver spoon’ because that song is so profound. ‘When you coming home, [dad]? Don’t know when.'”
This was a reference to the 1970s Harry Chapin song “Cat’s in the Cradle.”
Michelle Doubles Down
“I was like, ‘You’re going to look up, and the girls will be gone,'” Michelle continued. “Because there is a little window that parents don’t understand—a time when your children even want to be bothered with you.”
Bruce, 75, agreed with this sentiment, saying, “They’re going to be gone, and they are not going to be taking you with them.”
Perhaps realizing that she’d gone too far, Michelle appeared to try to backtrack by describing Barack, 63, as “a tremendous father.” She also acknowledged that as president, he had to make “important, heavy decisions” while also trying to be a father.
“It was important for both of us—for me and Barack—to carve out that time in those eight years when our girls were in their formative years,” Michelle concluded. “They lived longer, Malia and Sasha, in the White House than they’ve lived in any house. They were formed in that house and around that table in that residence, and it took a mighty effort to leave the grandeur at the door and to just be there and talk about fifth grade.”

Michelle Accused Of ‘Really Disliking’ Barack
Michelle can backtrack all that she wants to, but the damage was already done. Indeed, this is just the latest example of many when it comes to her bashing Barack on her podcast.
Since this podcast was launched back in March, many have noticed that Michelle frequently uses it to slam Barack and air his dirty laundry. The former Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently reacted to this by claiming that Michelle “really dislikes her husband, and it’s super obvious.”
“I’m not just saying that to be catty,” Tucker explained. “I think I’m trying to feel compassion for her but her hostility toward the guy is unbelievable.”
Tucker’s fellow Fox News host Megyn Kelly was quick to agree. She pointed out that “everything Michelle says about her husband is negative.”
“I almost never say negative things about Doug,” Megyn added, referring to her husband Doug Brunt. “He’s not perfect but when I think about him, I don’t immediately go to whatever is negative. I go to what’s positive and what I love about him.”

Obama Divorce Rumors
This comes after months of rumors alleging that the Obamas are divorcing. These rumors escalated in a big way back in January, when Michelle skipped both the funeral of Jimmy Carter and the inauguration of Donald Trump. She was the only living former First Lady to miss each of these events, forcing Barack to attend them alone.
“I have been hearing this rumor that the Obamas are getting a divorce by reputable people,” political commentator Meghan McCain said on reporter Tara Palmeri’s podcast back in January. “I’m not talking about TMZ, I’m not talking about Perez Hilton, although I love him, he’s my friend.”
“I’m talking about like very serious journalists telling me that they’re hearing that the Obama divorce rumors are true,” she added.
“We’ve heard that for a long time,” replied Tara, who has long covered Washington politics. “Like I just heard that they live separate lives.”

Barack has yet to address these divorce rumors publicly. In contrast, Michelle has tried to shut them down multiple times. However, many aren’t buying her denials, given the fact that she’s simultaneously continued to bash Barack on her podcast. Michelle’s latest comments about Barack’s secret White House “struggle” with parenting will certainly do nothing to help her case.
In the end, only time will tell if the Obama marriage is actually able to survive!
