First Lady Melania Trump is speaking out this week to honor mothers of United States military service members. She talked about the “quiet power” of motherhood ahead of Mother’s Day this weekend.
Melania Honors Military Mothers
“This is a time of military conflict for America, whereby we honor our selfless and valiant service members regularly,” said Melania, 56, at a White House event in the East Room that included military mothers. “Today is the day we hold their mothers in the highest regard.”
The First Lady went on to point out that as a mother herself, she understands that mothers of service members “find themselves alone, awake with their thoughts, in the darkest hours of the night.”
“At the very heart of America’s strength lies the boundless love and quiet power of mothers,” Melania continued. “We are the most devoted teachers, gently nurturing empathy, inspiring dreams and guiding our children to goodness. We help them rise with courage when life grows difficult.”
Melania ended her remarks by introducing her husband, President Donald Trump, 79.
“Most know my husband as the strong commander-in-chief, but his empathy transcends the role and shapes a caring leader who constantly remembers each and every American soldier is someone’s child,” she concluded.

President Trump Weighs In
President Trump then took the podium himself. He proceeded to single out three military mothers in the room. They were Brittany Stevenson, a Marine Corps spouse, Lt. Col. Amanda Collazo and Melody Wolfe.
Stevenson and Wolfe, the mother of Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, who survived a shooting attack in Washington, D.C., back in November, were eventually brought on stage.
“We have the nation behind us at a time when nobody thought our boy would make it,” Wolfe said. “We have a strong faith in God. And God is what to brought our son through this.”
President Trump then returned to speak again.
“No one should ever doubt the resolve of America’s military moms. They’re incredible,” Trump said. “From the start of our Republic, down to today, our nation’s been strengthened by the love and devotion and the commitment of incredible women.”
Trump Addresses War In Iran
Trump ended his speech by briefly addressing the current war in Iran. The president predicted that Tehran would end up agreeing to U.S. demands whether or not its leaders formally sign off on a deal.
“We’ll see whether or not they are agreeing, and if they don’t agree, they’ll end up agreeing shortly thereafter,” Trump concluded. “So that’s the way it is.”

This came just ahead of Mother’s Day, which takes place on Sunday, May 10. Honoring military mothers was clearly very important to Melania, as she is known to be a devoted mother to her 20 year-old son Barron Trump. She is also stepmother to President Trump’s four older children from his previous two marriages.
We applaud Melania for taking the time to honor American military mothers. This serves as a reminder of what an amazing and classy First Lady she really is.
God bless you, Melania Trump, and God bless American military mothers everywhere!
